Isn't it ironic,  the year Mount Union goes to the East bracket, they put a better team on top of the North  ;)

Did anyone else that watched that game really feel as though they were watching big time football;  the speed, the play calls, the defense etc.

Great game and Beaver is a great story.

Yes, I did.  It really did seem like "big time" football (heck, it is! :)) and I am not just saying that because I love DIII football.  The atmosphere was just like you described, even on TV i.e. ESPN.  Indeed, a great game as you said.

It will be interesting to see how Whitewater rebuilds or reloads.......

They lose 7 starters on offense (Beaver, Jones, 4 offensive lineman, Top WR)

They lose 7 starters on Defense (Raebel, entire lock down secondary, Orgizovich)

Will be interesting.   I am sure they have talent waiting in the wings, but will it be enough?
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Wally, loved your shout-out to UWW's D.C.  Brian Borland on the OAC board.  Gave me a big smile and +karma for you every 24 hours for a week from this UWW fan.  Again, your coaches, players and fans were great and it was a pleasure to host the Little Giant family at the Perk this year.  Good luck next season.

Wow, Wally, that is some news.  Sorry you guys lost Creighton, but I guess a good gain for Drake.  Who do you think 'Bash will hire now - anyone from the current staff?

BTW, while some people on other boards (not any of you guys) have "bashed" (pardon the pun here please  ;D) I-AA non-scholarship football programs during various discussions in the past, I forgot that Drake upset Illinois State in their opener this year.  That was huge, and they even had 12,000+ in attendance at the game, which was played at Illinois State.  Ranks up there with San Diego's win against Yale last year I would say.  I am not trying to stir up trouble, but rather just throwing this out as a general, tangential observation/comment, in view of Drake's new hire, i.e. since the topic was Drake/Wabash coaching change.  Interesting, but again, sorry you guys lost a good coach.  That's the nature of the profession, though.  I'm sure Wabash will still be fine next year and build on what they accomplished this year.
