Nice piece from Jim Amidon on Wabash football blog:  http://www2.wabash.edu/blog/goodtogreat/

Wally - check downtown Indy...   ;D

Smoke ... smoke ... the white smoke.

I predict white smoke from the Allen Center by January 24-25, which just happens to be the start of the winter Trustees Meetings as well as winter NAWM Board Meeting.  A propicious time ... the stars are lining up.

Wally ... put a tail on Bams this next week or so ... see what he eats and with whom ... with whom he sits with at Chadwick ... especially if you do not know who the "whom" is.

The funny thing is that when this deal does eventually go down I won't know whether we've hired the next Don Shula or the next Rich Kotite.

In spite of that fact, I show up here two or three times a day waiting for the announcement. ;D

Uncanny. Rich Kotite's name came up last night in a different conversation between myself and Wally.

Well, let's hope that no one else w/ any affiliation to the College was talking about him.

Give it about a week.  I feel pretty strongly that we'll have a name in the next 5-6 business days.

Somethings up.  Recent pic from Market Street in Downtown Indy  ;D
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

That's just the motorcade bringing Lauren Dungy to the Dungy's Carmel, IN home to tell Tony it's time to come home to Tampa.

Nice to see that the local coaches are invested in the success of Wabash. Of course, being alums (and parents) doesn't hurt!

BTW - Is Jake the #3 or #4 QB next year, behind Hudson and Augie?

I think I missed this one...but, BJ Hammer - Poet HC in the SoCal League..is he not high on the list. 2 yrs as HC at Whittier....he has brought the program up since he has been there.....Day 30 of the Wabash Watch.

smedindy

We've talked about Hammer before. In a few years, yes, but not now. He's building a program, but he needs more experience, I think, and he hasn't sustained success. That's the key, I think. Don't mess up the good thing.

OK then .... this is the week.  White smoke will come from the Allen Center on or before Friday.  I believe the choice will suprise and then please.  Good people have been conducting the search ... including two great Wabash football seniors to be ... I just know they are completing their tasks well, Wabash has a lot to offer and attracts some interesting candidates (many of whom are not made known to us - due to the need for their privacy) . ... and in the quiet and calm of the committee room ... WABASH WILL ALWAYS FIGHT ... and will come out renewed and revived with new O/D ideas and strengths and the better for the experience.

wabco & the rest of Men of Wabash...Maybe the announcement will be this week...and maybe not. I will stick with my February date as posted weeks ago. Regardless, the selection will be an outstanding one, I am sure. There is just to much at stake...the level that has been reached by LG football must be placed in the care of the right man, and to me...if it takes another few weeks...so be it. I almost looked forward to the Monday Morning Quaterbacking on the selection; there has to be some!

Saw the ring design today for the NCAC championship...awesome...3 NCAC plaques on one side, Elite 8 - very cool.  Made me think...this current Junior class has a shot to go out with 4 NCAC championships...strong!

AUeagle - info on the search has been extremely tight lipped - big time!   >:(  Hopefully soon they will release some names (finalists) or the name to succeed CC.  I'm sure it will be a very hot topic for the Board of Trustees and the Alumni Board of Directors this coming weekend.  BTW:  My 5th grade son is in the Allen Center today messing around and I placed a wire on him along with concealed video equipment to get info.

Smeds - I think, by season's end, Hernly had actually moved up to #2 QB.
