Lil Giant - The Qb from Texas is from Texas... ;) ;) ;)

I'm not sure you know this, but Texas is kind of a big place.  ;)

I happen to be sitting in San Antonio. If you, 16, were in Amarillo, you'd be closer to the capital of Wyoming than you were to me.

I was hoping you could narrow it down.  8)

16-
Is that Ivy League recruit the OL from Cville?

Did he stay in shape/  will he step right in and play?
Do you know what his other options are?

WallyFS4

BB16,

The QB that 4 coached is going to Ball State.  He verbal to Oregon, but changed his mind.

I was talking to 4 yesterday, he said he has an OL that would help the Little Giants.  He said he is in the top 10% of his class, but not sure he would get accepted at Wabash.  He is looking at Trinity, Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Hardin-Simmons.  As always.

Oregon to Ball State?!?  Yikes...it doesn't rain that much in Eugene.

BigWheels77,

No, the transfer (possibility) is from Princeton.  That one you mention was a disaster and really unfortunate.  I believe both of those guys are now at Indiana State??   ???

Lil Giant - did Wally hook you with that info?

Trying to learn more about OWU. . . How did Jonesco do last year?  Is he solid for OWU for this year?

I think Jonesco's last season at OWU was 2001.

08 -   I would ask the Bishop faithful on the board for the full story, but this is what I am seeing from where I am sitting.

You basically have Mike Fisher (968 passing & 534 yards rushing)  & Andy Boff (597 yards passing & 29 yards rushing) returning.

Both played in almost every game last year as a part of a two-headed rotation.   Fisher was a Freshman and is coming back with a much needed year under his belt.   From an outsiders view, I would give Fisher the ball and stay with him.   His ability to run and make people miss can only help in your offensive scheme.   The Bishop faithful could add much more then I can.

Based on what I saw during the Wabash/OWU 15-0 snoozefest last year was that Fisher is the qb best suited to run the kind of offense that Coach Hollway runs.  Of course my experience is limited to just one game (the third game of the year and their first without the injured Steve Hymes), so I don't know if I got a representative sampling or not.

Could or Would, Hymes get a medical redshirt?   aueagle... you out there?

I think Steve Hymes would qualify for a med-shirt...only played in 1 game in 2007.
I can't find my rule-book!! I expected a big '07 year from the Sr out of power-house Massillon Washington HS. Will he come out...I haven't heard. He will graduate this May. My $$ says he moves on.
bashbro: You're data is good, but, Fisher's NET rushing yardage takes it down to 449 yds. You are right-on with everything else.
wally: The Snoozefest was enough sampling for a Fisher-Test.

The QB job is Mike Fisher's to lose...At a solid 6'0 185 he is an "athlete-type"...His poise, execution & total numbers are superior to Sr Andy Boff. Boff will be the back-up....and very capable. 597 passing/only 29 NET rushing.

Fisher has decent arm-range...but his feet make the Red & Black go. He has very good moves too.
Fisher is  from Kenston HS (Cleveland area/ Chagrin Falls). Very good HS football and solid background. I saw him play several times last year...I like what I see so far...Please...no Sophomore jinx.....

The clincher: Coach "H" seems to have a tendency to go w/youth. Fisher can give the Bishops 3 more seasons....Boff only 1.

Thanks Au.  I think they have something to build around in Fisher, in the games I saw him on you great webcasts, I was impressed.

If he gets the ball at 100% of the time, I believe he will be able to put up some nice numbers.  Look forward to it.

Thats one of the great things about DIII football, a fair amount of freshman get some PT and you get to watch them develop on the field over 4 years.

Congratulations, people. Now that the guys in the baggy pants are done playing something with the round ball, for good and all, it's time for serious speculation. (spring practice=recruiting=reactions from Coach R=etc)
By the way, I'm relatively new to this game, and don't know who this #4 is. I presume he coaches somewhere in Texas. The only #4 I know is Russ Harbaugh, and he's making movies in Manhattan. I guess I have a lot to learn. My hands-on experience goes back to when Wabash had a high school coach with a PhD in English who ran the Princeton single wing ( and Dean Moore as his line coach). Made for some interesting games, but we lost to DePauw all 4 years I was in school, plus one more in 1964 when I came back special to see it.
I'm happy that Texas has been organizes for Li'l Giant, big as it is. It is as big as it is because the Republic of Texas had to join the union as one state-the Congress was opposed to the southerners who wanted to break it up into 3 or 4 slave states, which would have been contrary to the gentleman's agreement that states were admitted 2 at a time, one slave and one free.
