Just attacked a Thurman Burger with everything I had...Jury is still out on who won.

Wally and others, the place was as advertised.  Thanks for the tip.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Looked at OWU preview.  Where is tight end from last three years, Terrence Raeford, I believe. He is a senior this year.  Is he hurt?  No one transfers with one year left, do they?   Also, who starts at qb?

I read a few posts back that Wabash and Wheaton will scrimmage each other once again. Is this confirmed and where/when will the scrimmage take place?

nike: I saw that 2006 All-NCAC 2nd Teamer, Raeford was not on the squad. I don't know if it was academics or friction...I look for Steve Hymes to take control of the Bishop "O"...

Some players do, a la 2007 Whitewater quaterback Danny Jones, who came for his senior year from Cal Lutheran.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Did he have to sit out a year, or in D3 can you play right away?  He picked the right year, didn't he?
Talked to a Mt. Union player Sunday who was visiting our church.  Said that if they were going to lose, he was glad it was to Whitewater.  Played defense and was very impressed with Beaver, as a player and person.  Incidently, Mt. Union's championship ring, do not know what year it was, looked like a cupcake on his finger.

For Jones, it was a transfer from one D3 school to another, so he could play right away.

The rules are little different if you're moving between divisions. Coming to D3 from a "higher" division, you're allowed to play immediately with no wait period. However, if you leave D3 for another division, then you do have to sit out a year.

I think Jones transferred knowing full well that he had a title shot with the Warhawks. Plus, their former QB, Justin Jacobs, had graduated, so there was a big need for an experienced player under center.

Some conferences also have rules about transferring within the conference, CCIW and WIAC have some restrictions, for example. In one of them you have to sit out a year if transferring between conference schools after your sophomore year, I believe. The other I think is similar but after the freshman year.

The OAC has the same rule, however it applies to all years of eligibility.

Will be attending calling hours and funeral of long time former Wooster asst. coach Roy Lockett today and tomorrow.  Got to know him over the years.  A great guy with a warm smile and a 1000 funny stories about Wooster football. Got his college degree at Wooster over a twenty year period while coaching part time and working full time at Rubbermaid.  Services are on the college campus, which shows how much he was thought of by the school.
Rest in peace, my friend.

Alright...almost a week late, but I've finally gotten around to tallying the results from our fan poll.  I hope you'll excuse me...I've been spending the week nursing a reconstructed ACL.  I can honestly say that I've never been this uncomfortable for this long of a period of time in my life.  My advice to the board: don't tear your ACL.  The post-op pain just isn't worth it.

And now the results, first place votes in parentheses as usual....

1. Wabash   88.5 (7.5)
2. Wittenberg 79 (1)
3. OWU 70.5 (0.5)
4. Allegheny 62
5. Wooster 59
6. Kenyon 36
7. Oberlin 35.5
8. Denison 34.5
9. Earlham 15.5
10. Hiram 14.5

Darkside-D!  Nice to see you back on the board!
