BB16,
Nope...not an L...why do you ask?

WAF78,

Cause we are trying to figure out who you are.  :)

I was wrong.  Dangit!

Some good Wabash football blogs on Wabash website ... of course, the team blog but also one by Hudson.  Looks like the guys are back and focused with everyone who was expected and in anticipated (or better) shape.  Will be interesting to read the blogs on how the Frosh react to the 3 day camp.

Wabash moves up to number 5 of those who have purchased the D-3 Kickoff. Keep those credit cards going, Little Giants.

Just an observation...when Wabash does a football outreach...they go to Botswana to give sports camps for kids who would never, ever have an opportunity to attend a camp like that....or...they pull a passenger jet to raise money for Special Olympics. When Mt. Union does an outreach...they get money to go spend it at junkfood alley at the local Alliance fair...hmmm...just an observation.

25 days until the Little Giants roll into Denison...WAF

Until you have walked around at one of those "Alliance fairs", you really can't judge the impact or importance of the Mount players "work" being done there.  I mean come on!  Have you ever BEEN to Alliance???   ;D

The answer to that question is going to be a resounding yes.  I would expect a hefty contingent of Wabash fans descending into Piper-Deeds Stadium for the opener.  If any Wabash fans haven't made it out to Denison before, I am going to highly recommend the trip.  Denison's natural bowl setting along with the outstanding recent renovations make Piper-Deeds one of the best places in the NCAC to take in a game.   The crowd and atmosphere is going to be lacking from what you've experienced at places like Wabash or Wooster or to a lesser extent Wittenberg, but aesthetically speaking Denison's stadium is one of the best I've visited.

2 tips/suggestions for Bash fans on the Denison roadtrip:

1)  Eat lunch at the pizza/sub shop at the entrance of campus - can't recall the name.  Really good grub.

2)  Bring & wear your best running shoes, after the game, jump the fence and run around on the turf to see if you can drive the AD (I think it was him) crazy!  I actually was amazed 2 years ago how protective & psychotic he was keeping families & young children off the turf.  He actually called it "his field."  So, Wally & Co. - get a plan, take it from all angles and do not stop...run fast.

I forgot to mention the FieldTurf Nazi!  Hopefully the novelty of the new surface has worn off a bit since '06 and they won't be such a pain about friends and family meeting their players on the field after the game.  That bit was pretty ridiculous.

Isn't FieldTurf made to walk and run upon?

Watched a little of Wooster's practice yesterday.  The coaches were really more jacked up than I can ever remember seeing them in preseason practice, as far as yelliing at the kids and being demonstrative.
Especially a new db coach who played at Michigan.  He was all over his dbs.
The quarterback, Austin Holter, has a strong arm, but a ton of dropped passes.  The new db coach has the dbs really going after the ball, however.
And a lot of sprints. A lot!
Maybe they feel this could be another magical year they  compete for the title.  Plus it is Sheppard's last year.
We shall see....

Don't forget the buzzard's that circle over the Denison stadium.  Always an inspiring sight. :o

As inspiring as "Wally" showcasing his reconstructed, sprinting ability? Tiebreaker will be his post-game, 40 split?  ;D ;D

It is about 120 miles from Hinkley to Granville - a short hop for buzzards.
