Wabash Weekly Press Release is posted:

Some interesting developments on the 2-deep, indeed.

Most interesting development on the 2-deep. No Matt Kraft! I hope its not a serious injury situation, or other problems. I would have considered him the cream of the returning LB crop, who has had some GREAT Saturdays in the last 2 years.
Talk about depth at big tight end with Sorensen edging out Scott Liska. In the matchup department I like Andrew Rode against Denison's 5'9" corner and 5'10" safety, with maybe the tight ends and Graham in there for fun. I don't know how I fancy our corners 1 on 1 with Barnes' speed, but maybe he won't be able to get out there wearing the 5'9" center that Gangloff and Kennon draped on his back.
Nothing like the first 2 deep of the year to get the juices flowing. Go Bash

No #27 on the roster either - what's up with this?

We all wish Matt and the entire Kraft family the best.   Quite a player.  Hope we see him back at Wabash soon.

16 -

Couple things jumped out at me. (no order)

1.  Sobecki being listed third in the list of RB's (Don't know if there was any order here with all the ORs)
2.  Morris has lost about 18 lbs and should be lean and mean at RT.
3.  Our O-Line averages - 6' 3" 286 - Their D-Line 6'1"1/2 - 226
4.  Kennon & Lange look to be at their fighting weights.
5.  Almost our entire defense is tall (Could have the tallest pair of Cb's in the NCAA)

As others have said, this game will be all about chasing Barnes.

Can't wait.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

During the scrimmage Yoder and Kemp were splitting series....maybe with Yoder getting an extra series here and there.  As I mentioned earlier, Sobecki was getting iced up...not sure if whatever ankle tweak he suffered Saturday is related to his position on the depth chart.  I'd guess that if Evan is dinged up, they'd do the smart thing and hold him out.  Wabash doesn't get a week off between now and whenever the season is over...no reason to be pushing guys in week 2 when there is adequate depth, which there appears to be here.

There's more to the game here than just whether or not Wabash can chase down Barnes.  Since joining the NCAC, Wabash has been drilling Denison to the tune of about 49-6 (on average since 2000).  Whether Usain Barnes runs wild or not, Denison is going to have to figure out how to keep Wabash out of the end zone.

yo...Oregon...I didn't say anything about Denison winning or even coming close.  Maybe, I should have said that "Barnes running is the only thing that could keep this one within 40."   If we do a good job of containing him, its a 40+ point margin.  If we don't do a good job on the edge, it will be less.

bashbro, are you responsible for getting that Wazzu flag on Gameday whenever the Gameday crew rolls into Florida?   ;D

I wish I was.

The Cougs are a sore subject this year.  ;)   First year coach Paul Wulff's post game press conferences will go something like this every week.

Sadly, Matt Kraft and his family recently lost his father at the start of camp.  As the oldest son, he is laying out this semester to take care of his family and plans on returning next season for his final year of eligibility and to complete his degree.  Please keep Matt and his family in your thoughts & prayers during this extremely difficult time.

I share this to answer your questions and to prevent any rumors & false speculation.

I am obliged for your information, bash backer. It needed to be said so there is no speculation going rampant. My heartfelt condolences to Matt and the Kraft family as a Wabash man and fraternity brother. I know what a crushing blow it can be to lose your father just as your life is coming together as you and your family hoped it would. It's a struggle but Matt has the character to make his father proud

I'm making the trip back to South Bend this Saturday for the Michigan game, and was hoping that a few of you might have some insight as to how to make the most of our game day experience at Notre Dame.  We're staying in Chicago (I couldn't stomach the $350/night it took to book a room at the South Bend Days Inn) and heading in early Saturday morning, so any info you'd like to pass along, from parking, to tailgating, to "must-see" things on campus, would be appreciated.  Feel free to send me a PM if you'd rather do that than post.

Thanks for your help, and good luck to your teams this season!

There are two places I would definitely hit...well they are far apart so maybe one or the other.

1.  The huge tent behind the Morris Inn...complete with food, drink and plenty of TV's...along with plenty of bathrooms (port-o-lets) nearby.  You can do this AND watch the band perform 90 minutes before kickoff on the steps of the Bond Architecture Building.  Fans line the route all the way to the stadium.  The entire concert/march to stadium lasts about 30 minutes...if memory serves correctly.
2.  Tailgating in parking lot....probably one of the best tailgates in the area because of how nice the people are.  Not uncommon for strangers to be invited to join a group for a round of beers/food.

also worth mentioning...
*drinking at the Linebacker (bar)...on Southeast end of Campus (quite a walk across the parking lots).
*The Hammes Notre Dame bookstore.  Two stories and usually has someone of importance signing books or autographs.  Last time I was up there it was Ara Parsegian

If you happen to need extra tickets, go hang out near where the Greyhound Buses come in.  Usually alums who don't want to hawk tickets to a scalper will be around there.  Just tell them "you want to see the game, not resell the tix" (faculty season ticket holders can get in hot water for selling tix to scalpers).

Enjoy the experience...make sure you guys are in your seats when the Irish come out of the tunnel.

That's hilarious...that is easily my favorite Mora post game presser ever.  Even better than the "playoffs?" rant.  I don't know what it's like to be mad enough to turn into a 6-year old, but that has to be pretty mad.

Immediately after that presser, Coach Mora held a closed doors practice focusing on becoming better at doing diddily poo offensively.
