WUStL's game at Rhodes was the reverse.  They gave up three long passes early on, two for tds and setting up a third, to go down 21-0.  That forced them into a pass heavy offense and Rhodes' defense caused 8 sacks and picked off three passes.  Meanwhile the Bear's only td was on a blocked punt.

Agree that it is hard to win in Springfield but let's keep in mind that Witt was playing without 8 starters!  They (Witt) also turned the ball over and were trying to dig out of a 21 point hole.  How about WashU's other wins - quality opponents??

They lost a lot off last year's squad so I think its still early to make accurate assessments on how good they really are.

All that said, its still a road game against a quality opponent.  Bash will be ready...

The improvement the team has shown after each successive game has been remarkable. I expect we will see more of the same and Wabash will play a complete game. This is a good quality opponent at their house. Should be a great ballgame.

Wabash jumped back ahead of Muhlenberg in this week's AFCA Top 25 and currently sits at #5.  Somebody has to lose that Mount Union/Capital game this weekend, so if Wabash can take care of business in St. Louis, the Little Giants will have an opportunity to climb even higher.

I know the polls don't mean squat, but it sure is fun to see your team's name near the top of that list!

Wabash still showing strong on Offense and climbing in defense.

OWU - 5th in the nation in pass defense.....

Wooster - 6th in the nation in scoring defense (139th in scoring offense)

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Hey there fellow Wallies,

This is Tom Norman.  I do the student broadcast for the football games, and I have recently come across these boards, and have a few things to add.  First things first, this Little Giant football team is as good as I have ever seen them, and look forward to these next two games.  The run attack is very fun to watch, for anybody who has yet to come out and see these games.  The defense is also on a MISSION.  It should be a blast to see these guys go through the rest of the year.

Also, I was reading broadcast feedback from the various games, and I do appreciate it.  After the Denison game, Brent relayed the feedback onto me and in the next two games that I have done I believe I have rectified the situation.  I know I still have a great many flaws in my broadcast ability (heck if I didn't, I would be doing Monday Night Football haha).  I am, however, very open to feedback, and will be very receptive of whatever the listeners have to offer.  I will be broadcasting the game from St. Louis, and will be glad to hear anything you can offer.  Once again, I apologize for the extraneous material in the Denison broadcast, and vow to bring an accurate, detailed, and exciting broadcast to you on Saturday.

Sr. LB Matt Weisman might be out....he was wearing what looked like a cast on the sideline Saturday. Pound for pound (5'7"-175) this kid is what I would want in my foxhole. Loves to hit & always finds his way around the ball. The Bishops need him on the field for tackles & in the locker room for leadership.
The OWU football program is taking on water and no land is in sight...a 3 win season might be all the Red & Black can look for at this point in the season. I've talked with some people that they are remembering the dark days of the 1970's. With 4 Ohio schools in the Top 25 & 2 of them only 30 minutes away from Delaware, the OWU program has many questions to resolve.

Interested in the OWU situation, because have been to several games there over the years.  Not the prettiest stadium, but the  size of the Selby is awesome.   Easy to imagine what that place would look like with 10,000 people screaming for the Bishops.
What is the problem?  Is it coaching?  Recruiting? Is anyone on campus talking about change?  How long has Hollway been there?
Sad situation.
Scots are not playing great on offense, but I will take 4-0 any day. Have to hope problems will be ironed out.  Will be tailgating in full force on the 18th for WashU.

I'm not gonna predict the score, but I look to see a lot of 5'3 Dejaun Bush giving the Spartans problems on the turf and for Holter to be running more than usual.

G0 SCOTS!

No problem.  You are our eyes and ears when we cannot be where you are ... which will be in St. louis.  Any info as to what is going on is good info.  Brent is the Yoda Master.  Wabash Always Fights

Case will BLAST Wooster this weekend.  Count on it.

I can't believe no one has voiced stronger concerns about last week's game against Earlham...needing a late fieldgoal to win the game??  Earlham!!!  Seriously.  In Earlham's first 3 games (all losses) they had given up 42 (Rose), 40 (Manchester), and 47 (Anderson).  They hold the Scots to 16!!!  Earlham had lost their 2 previous games by a whopping 87-21.  On top of all of this, the game was at the Papp??

In looking at the NCAC statistics, Woo doesn't jump out (on either side of the ball)...given their schedule to this point in the season, they should.

...just my 2 cents.

wally_wabash

I think one thing that is telling about the Scots is that Wooster is one of only two undefeated teams that is not recognized by the D3football.com top 25.  The other is Huntingdon, and Huntingdon's schedule makes it seem like Wooster has played the NFC East so far.

Wooster's next 4 games are @ CWRU, Wash U., @ Wabash, Allegheny.  I'm sure that Wooster's defense is pretty good.  But unless Wooster figures out how to start scoring some points, 4-4 isn't out of the question.

I'm assuming by your post, you think Wabash will murder Woo as well? Wasn't it just last year that 8-0 Wabash came to 2-6 Woo and pulled off a 21-10 victory when they were suppose to destroy the Scots? On any given day, anything can happen...........numbers aren't everything, wait and see.

Black and Gold ... get off the purple Kool Aid.

Wabash WILL monkey stomp Wooster, as will Case and I suspect Wash U.

After the licking 'Gheny took last weekend ... other than perhaps learning not to spit on an opponent's symbol and trash talk does not work in one's favoer ... I suspect they will not be able to return from their monkey stomp experience ... so maybe, if Woo keeps perspective till it gets to 'Gheny ... there may be a win there.
