Firstdown - EXCELLENT comment, agree 110%.  Also a sweet sound AFTER a playoff win while enjoying post-game tailgate and fire.

BB 16 - Amen to that!

IMO. Wabash is going to win tomorrow, no doubt about it. I would have considered the Scotts if the game was in Wooster, and/or if they played a tighter game against Case.....but they aren't and they didn't. Wabash wins 24-10.

If these stats aren't "tight".......i don't know what is. The only thing that wasn't tight was the score. Go to youtube and watch the game, its there. Wooster drove, just couldn't punch it in that day, made some adjustments and beat a team the next week (WashU) that beat a team that just about pulled one off on you (Witt). This game will not rely on Holter pulling off a "Vince Young". It will be a whole dominate team effort. We can't have passes bobbled and returned for td's. If they play like they did last week, look out. And Holter pulling a "Vince Young" effort will just be icing on the cake. I think you guys are under estimating this team...........

I just want to say one thing.   All you Woo Folk......  please continue to post next week, no matter what happens tomorrow.

You're a fun bunch and add good comments to this forum.

;)

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

BnG,

Wabash is not Case.

Obviously they are not Case............but what is your defense on the statement? You guys lucked out this year by not having to play them.  ::) I'm not too full of myself, just having a lil fun with the Wabash faithful ;) Someone has to support the Scots!

wally_wabash

Holter accounts for 81% of Wooster's offense the last two weeks.  I'm not sure how that translates into anything other than Wooster needs Holter to have a monster game.  If he doesn't, where are the points coming from?

If you look at it that way.........but you'll have that when you touch the ball every play. ;)

you're right, the stats are tight. I was just looking at the score.

However, after looking at the box score, the thing that stands the most was Wooster's lack of substaining a long drive and getting deep in Case's redzone......I still pick Wabash this weekend.

Let me ring in on the Trinity debate.  For those checking won-loss possibilities, here's my take since a couple years were left off the table:

1998 - Wabash loses to TU
1999 - TU
2000 - TU
2001 - TU
2002 - Wabash
2003 - Wabash
2004 - TU
2005 - TU
2006 - TU
2007 - definitely TU, Wabash was the third best team DePauw faced last year.  And, yes I did personally see all 3 games.

So, despite your beliefs Wababies, Trinity would have owned Wabash as well.  Sorry, Witt is not a good comparison to TU.  And you guys have a .500 record aganist them anyway.  That's not exactly domination.  And, yes, Millsaps has lapped DePauw.  You prove my point.  Wabash plays a cream puff schedule.  That's why they make the playoffs every year.  Looking forward to the game this year.

No disrespect to Trinity at all. They're a fantastic program. But are you really coming into another board to play up how good your conference rival is?

What would have happened between Wabash and Trinity in those years is purely academic. What is not academic is Depauw's record against Trinity and Wabash's record against Witt over those same years.

The Bell Game will be what it has always been: a tough game between archrivals.

The playoffs will be what they've always been: a tournament without Depauw.

QuoteWallyFS4 - you need to look up Dave Dunlap in South Bend.  Wabash '89, former LB'er, really good guy, born & raised up there so he would be a good one regarding your nightclub/gig.  Interesting Mr. J...hmmm!  How is #4 doing?

BB16 - Email me if you have info on Dave, I would love to invite him over.  #4 is doing great.  Having a rough year with the Skeeter's.  Trying to make the playoffs.  If not, there is a silver lining.  He will be back for the Bell game.  He hopes to be in the playoffs.  Being selfish, I am hoping to go to the Bell game with him.  As always.

WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS!!!

Wabash was the third best team you saw DePauw play last year...that is an analysis in a vacuum.  You saw Wabash play one time.  I saw Wabash play 12 times last year (didn't make it out to Allegheny) and Wabash played one of their two worst games of the year against DePauw (the other was the mess in Wisconsin in December...but December football is a foreign concept to you and I don't want to confuse you any further so we won't talk about that game).  I'm fairly confident in saying that what you saw on that Saturday was not a representative sample.

Since Wabash started winning their cream puff conference, the LGs have won five of the last seven Bells against your guys.  How does that factor in to your logic?

It would be nice if your guys could actually make the playoffs one time...it's a good experience.  Unfortunately, the only way that's going to happen anytime soon is if you all buy a ticket (which are reasonably priced...you should check it out).

Men of Wabash:
Please take it easy on ScotLass....buy her a brew and put it on my tab....
Good Luck to the Bishops....they need to play a complete game and just compete for 4 quarters.
Even at this point in the season....grow the under-class with a fresh look to the future of Battling Bishop football. GO BISHOPS

Bash-Dad #84

I don't know about the posters on this board, but I do know that none of the Wabash players are taking this game lightly. This could be the toughest team that Wabash has played this season. After the Witt game,(the outcome of which had nothing to do with luck!), we are nursing a few injuries and have had a good and spirited week of practice. I am sure that Wooster will come to town and play their hardest, but I am even more sure that Wabash is going to come out swinging.

WAF!

WallyFS4....I am from South Bend and am always looking for a good cold beer, as long as I don't have socks that are older than the patrons! ;D
