Trine just did a very large upgrade to the facilities in Angola over the last year, Smed.  Anticipation, perhaps?

Because of travel roster size, is it going to be more difficult for Wabash to slow down the scoring train next week in Hiram?

Where is Franklin?  Aren't they in the North?

fc_alum_84

Franklin is in Franklin, IN.  North Region.  Franklin is due south of Indianapolis about 20 miles or so.

fc_alum_84

Franklin is one win away from auto bid (hapless Manchester or Hanover the next two weeks).  With the Wheaton loss FC should  move up one notch and with an Adrian win over Trine (50/50 shot) FC might move up to six.  If Ottebein were to lose to John Carrol (for sure loss to Mount Union) FC could even move up one more.  I am still hoping for a #6 at #3 Wabash. (in state battle at its best)

Hello everyone,

I am just posting to ask, since there was no video feed this week against Oberlin, what everyone thought about the broadcast.  For those parents who post on or read this board, Ben, Mark, and myself tried as best as we could to mention everyone that got playing time as they were checking in, out, or as there were breaks in the action.  For those just listening to listen, have Wash U and this game been improvements over the beginning of the year?  Once again, any input would be appreciated, as we will be doing the broadcasts for what we hope is a very special postseason.

Being a long time resident of Wooster I am both a Generals and Scots fan and despite a 6-2 record for the Scots there are some serious problems with this years team.  The team has constantly had problems taking care of the football which starts at the quarterback position.  In Saturdays game Holter turned the ball over 3 times on the goaline.  This has been a trend all season.  I think it might be time to sit him down and try out Parker. Coach Moore doesnt hesitate to sit down his point guard when he turns the ball over and Coach Schmitz should think about doing the same.  Numerous times this season he has turned the ball over in the redzone and you cant be an elite team when you make mistakes like that.  Secondly, I have yet to see one play this year as a designed under center play.  In short yardage situations it makes no sense to snap the ball 3-4 yards back when you only need to gain several inches.  Just my opinion.

Lol I could be wrong (not the first, won't be the last), but typically I see Steve Hoffman and Joe Emmick doing the broadcast, and the video feed is the stream archived on Teamline.  I never saw them, and when I checked Teamline, the radio broadcast was the one streamed.  I apologize for the confusion, but my deductive reasoning led me astray.  In any instance, my thoughts about a special postseason still stand.

First, welcome to the board.

Second, I've only seen the Scots play one full game, against Wabash, and a small part of the 1st quarter against Case. But Holter is your best athlete on offense, IMO. Benching him for turnovers seems like it would be counterproductive, at best. Especially with Witt coming up.

Are you serious......benching Holter? Your "CPFanClub#1" name wouldn't have anything to do with that would it? ;)

Interesting take...I'm in agreement that Holter, if he's going to be the centerpiece of the offense, can't continue to be as fumbly as he has been if Wooster is going to contend next year.  I would expect that part of his game to improve quite a bit next year.  Benching the starting qb on a 6-2 team?  I can't get behind that idea...Scots fans have voiced their opinion on what happened against CWRU and as an eyewitness to the Wabash loss, I can say that it wasn't Holter that lost that game for the Scots.  I think 2007 was the time for figuring out who Wooster's qb going forward was, and I think that coach Schmitz has pretty clearly decided that Holter fits what he wants to do offensively best.  Having a rotating door at quarterback almost never ever works out.

I doubt that sitting Holter down is a plan with 2 games left. ;).....he does some very good things, but he can do some scary things too. 15 interceptions to this point isn't great (not all his fault...ie: tipped balls by the receiver) and not protecting the ball when he runs has resulted in some unfortunate turnovers. The offense has had a problem with accumulating a lot of yards without scoring points, some because of the turnovers, some because they just didn't produce. That being said......you must have blinked......Holter did take a snap under center for short yardage against Gheny.....I remember it specifically because I hadn't seen it all year.... ;D

I think at this point the die is cast as far as the QB is concerned.......seems it would be easier to work on improving some kinks than revamping the offense to fit Parker. I would list a handful items offensively AND defensively way before seriously considering a QB change.

GO SCOTS!!!!!

Are you talking about benching this guy? (2nd honor this season) Congrats!

http://www.northcoast.org/fo/fopow.html

I know his turnovers are very frustrating at times but the kid is a true competitor. He reminds me of a Brett Favre. He may give up 5 picks.........but he will find a way to get you 6 scores. I wouldn't throw Woo's 2 losses on his shoulders either. The Case game was just a wierd game and I was impressed with his performance against Wabash. I don't know if you witnessed the game, but Wooster was in it with 6 minutes left. Thats not bad playing against the # 3 team in the region. Now come next year........and we are still talking about two losses, there may be a problem then. As for now, you can't throw him under the bus.

GO SCOTS!  ;D
