AUEagle,

Go hire former Wabash D-Coordinator, OWU alum - Pete Germano.  Has been on Solich's staff at Ohio.

Whatever happened to "Jr" ??  Remember the dad that posted for a couple of years but I think his son was always hurt.  He would give us updates on his high school??  Did he ever end up playing for the Bishops?

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who quotes Gordon Gekko in everyday conversation.

I thought he transferred to an OAC school.

Wooster (4-2, 6-2) moves into the regional rankings at #10 in the North.  (I think the in-region record should be 5-2 instead of 4-2.)

Bashbacker--I remember that dad who talked about his kid. It was kind of annoying but his e-mails did convince me NOT to post stuff while my kid was playing.

BB#16.....or how about former Wake Forest "D" coordinator and 1st yr head coach at Eastern Kentucky Dean Hood (6-3 right now). My point here is, OWU, I feel doesn't use former Red & Black fully. Hood is a 3 time All-NCAC & Bishop Hall of Fame guy. He barely gets mentioned in the media guide...and there are other Bishops in college & H.S. ranks. Use them for recruiting & a feeder system. If a D1, D2 guy is unhappy with his situation...then transfer to Ohio Wesleyan. I think a guy like Germano, once you get a taste of the big time of D1....it's hard to (at a young age) to grasp the 3 level. But, with the deep pockets of Bishop alumni....make him an offer he can't refuse! He can recruit Ohio for sure.
Jr did become a Pio....His dad took some shots on the board, but he was fair & spoke his mind and was proud of his son...He had insight and I enjoyed his posts.

Here would be a short list of 8 names (I will get two more if the Job really Opens)

1) Jay Hood Miami (Ohio) DC. He is an OWU grad and will likely be looking for a new job this off season.
2) Jim Meye- LB Wayne State.  Wayne State Defense has been awesome this season. He is the former HC
at Kenyon (89-94) and was the NCAC coach of the year in 1989.
3) Tim Doup Otterbein OC.  Otterbein is having a story book season and Doup has been a great Coach in Central Ohio for years working at places like Upper Arlington and Olentangy.
4) Mike Dunlevy- HC Averett.  He has Strong tries to Central Ohio and is a 1987 Otterbein Grad
5) Pat Delaney DC OWU.  He is already on staff so this would work only if Coach Hollway Ph.D. Stepped down. However it would be great for the players.
6) Seth Duerr Wooster DC.  He has the energy OWU needs to turn the program around and would likely stay at OWU for the next 25 years. Plus, his Defenses have been some of the best in the NCAC the past 4 seasons.
7) Todd Stepsis DC Saginaw Valley State University.  Coached at both Capital and Otterbein. He is young and could energize the program as well.
8)Brain White HC Hilliard Davidson.  Coach White has done more with less than any other High School coach in the State. Plus, could recruit Columbus pretty damn well!

I will remind you that ER was in my top 10 for Wabash 6 to 8 weeks before being named the next HC.

Germano was 5-15 in two years at CWRU (99 & 2000).
Scafe was 8-12 the prior two years and Perella 11-9 the following two years.

short: Great List! You must be a sports agent! Delaney is well liked by his guys and the former Toledo Rocket DB is a very good teacher. My thought is this; If...if there was a change, it might be better to start the quest for championships with a fresh face. Doup has a track record. Jay Hood has his brother & father as a great resource. Your list has great merit....a "youth" guy would be an attraction.

BB#16: Jr. got some PT for the Bishops. He was moved around on both sides of the ball.  Had good size & was (is) a good athlete.

The Duerricane is an intriguing name.  He was a beast when he played at Wooster and he has done a really good job as an assistant at Wooster.  Of course this is all uber speculation as that position isn't even open.  I think it's pretty obvious though that those who follow the NCAC and make their voices heard here think that it might be time for a fresh approach in Delaware.

As I've stated before that I am no genious (and most Woo fans think I'm an idiot) when it comes to the playoffs and the calculations that factor in.................with Woo #10 now in the region, does that bring false hope to the team or is there actually hope if certain teams fall and beat up on each other the next 2 weeks? Yes, I know Woo needs to beat Oberlin and Witt first which will be a tough matchup. Lets say it happens though, coming from a curious fan and Woo ends up 8-2 with a strong performance over Witt. What are your thoughts on the topic? This is just food for thought, so don't bash me saying they haven't beat Witt yet, blah, blah, blah.  ::)

Every Scottish Village needs one. :D All kidding aside 8), I too am hoping there is an outside chance of the play offs for the Scots.  Just a little food for thought, to date including the mythical 2004  season Wooster has 33 regular season wins only 5 of those wins are against teams with over a .500 record, if you add in the teams that are at .500 the win total goes from 5 to 12.  That said, good teams win big games, step up, and rise to the challenge against equal competition. Will the next 2 games be the ones where the Scots draw a line in the field and make a stand and a statement? I hope so

Black and Gold...first of all...yes...it IS possible...but I think Woo needs a lot of help from a lot of people...and it really all depends on how these last two weeks shake out, of course.  First...it helps you if Wabash and Case end up undefeated...then your only two losses are to two undefeated, regionally ranked teams. Secondly, I think if Adrian loses to Trine (not sure that's going to happen)...and Augie loses to Central (pretty sure that's going to happen...but you never know...that's why they play the game) then I think Woo might have a chance at a number 8 seed. Franklin has two more games against inferior foes and will most likely win out. Their only loss was to undefeated Trine. If Otterbein loses to MU...but then wins at John Carroll...then they're in. If they lose these last two...they may not be in either.  Trine plays Adrian this week and then plays a non Div. 3 opponent their last week...and I have no idea how that works when considering playoff criteria if they win or they lose.
Case plays at Carnegie Mellon and Wash U....games they SHOULD win...but again....that's why they play the game.
Wabash is already in...however whether they win out or not will affect their seeding.
But, as you've already stated, we're working with the assumption that Woo wins out over a pretty good Witt team.

There are several guys on here who are much more in tune with the playoff criteria and how that all works...but for what's it worth...this is my opinion...and that's what you asked us to give you.
