Ballgame, 36-14.

Bugger me, we will never hear the end of this disaster.  It will take a national championship or an act of congress to shut the dannies up for the next twelve months.

I need a drink.

Congratulations to Hiram on big win over Oberlin. Came a long way this year and hopefully next year will bring even more improvement.

Something tells me that even a Walnut & Bronze isn't going to shut them up. And with good reason. They beat our arse today.

Walnut and Bronze probably would, in all fairness.  You win the National Championship and I will very gladly bite my tongue.

You don't and I probably won't.   ;D

Drinks don't help, JW.  Congrats to DePauw (arghhh!) - the Tigers did what was necessary to pick the LGs defense apart and expose some major issues (tackling and bad "reads").  Dick, Ellis, and the receivers played extremely well and are deserving of some Greendingle lovin'.

That was about as painful a performance to watch as an afternoon matinee of Wagnerian opera. Smite away, but Hudson's lucky that DePauw didn't pick eight - just plain "dyin' quail" on three occasions and Valdiserri had a field day (along with 'Bash's inability to wrap up and finish tackles) . Might be time to stop worrying about "cowbells," stat lines, personal blogs, and the success/failure of the local pros and concentrate on getting through round 1.  Ain't gonna happen with a repeat performance of today.  :(  edit note: danged, fat-fingered typos - couldn't have been the pints of Arrogant bastard at the Telecast party... ;)

Focus on Saturday, regardless of where seeded and not get "planted!"  Two straight years of wake-up calls from the Dannies should be adequate incentive.  WAF!

hey Wabash guys... I'm really surprised at the result today.. but you have to admit, the last time you last to those Dannies -- the playoff run that followed was pretty special.  I like Wabash's chances in the dance...

I'm excited to see what these brackets look like tomorrow.

Gators finish 5-5
Bishops end at 2-8
OWU is 9-21 the last 3 yrs.
1 winning season in last 6 seasons

Four years ago OWU was 7-3, a great freshman class.  The future looked very promising.  I saw them play twice that year.  What in the world happened?

fc_alum_84

maybe Bash is in the same boat as FC  big fish in a weak conference.  Third ranked in the country my a$$ no freaking way  Depauw has exposed them as a fraud once again.

So I take it that the playoff victories that we have had were just a mirage...

fc_alum_84

talk is cheap and that was then   you guys got whacked at home by an unranked and non-playoff team 34-17 and it was 33-0 at one point.  scoreboard

Playoff wins over Mt. St. Joseph, CWRU, and Albion aren't mirages, but not all that impressive either.

Wow. What a beating. An embarrassing, disappointing performance to say the least.

Spud is the real deal. I thought he was tremendous and Coach Walker's game-plan damn-near impeccable. It seemed like at least two of the Hudson's three picks were scheme picks with a safety/corner robbing the flats (something Hudson seemed completely unprepared for). Ugh. Everything for Wabash looked just awful.

Hats off to DPU; it's hard to continue our schedule argument as it seems pretty clear who's closer to the truth. Let's hope we can re-group and make a run in the tournament, though it's hard for me to hold this team in the same regard as I did even hours ago.

Wally and others: Witt seems less like an anomaly now, no?

aueagle

nike: That 2005 squad was a good one for OWU....BUT, they got destroyed by Wabash 29-7 & Witt 31-9.
Reminds me of the 9-1 squad in 2001.....tough from top to bottom...went 6-0 until they ran into a train-wreck in Wittenberg....39-14. When the Bishops have a decent team....it just can't break the glass ceiling...like Wabash, Wittenberg & Wooster. The latter two for the most part, Bash has our number.
From that 2005 class...I think 19 stayed on. You ask what happened? Maybe the  talent was never fully utilized or fully developed. Maybe the "schemes" didn't fit the personel. Maybe the "great freshman" class wasn't backed-up with another "great" class. Maybe some of those freshman left the program after some time for what-ever reasons. 9-21 in 3 yrs...ONE winning team in 6 yrs.....MMmmmm.
See Gordon Gecko: You're walking around blind without a cane, pal. A fool and his money are lucky enough to get together in the first place.
Men of Wabash: Man.....I was thinking this could be THE RUN...something to match the early 1980's....
You still have a lot of football left......carry-on.

Agree on all counts. They played a whale of a game all around.

Yeah. That thought has been had by many of us today.

Agreed again. I'm not anywhere as optimistic as I was at this point last year.

Yeah, I think so. It's obvious that this team is capable of stretches of bad football. What happened today is what should have happened to us at Witt but didn't.
