To All Have a safe and Happy New Year !!!

BTEXPRESS

Now that the season has been over for a few weeks, I thought we could keep some meaningful conversations going with a few poll type questions. Here is my first one. How would you rank the Head Colleges in the Centennial Conference? There are some Veterans and some fairly new ones. Who wants to take a shot???

old ends

This is a tough question..Do you mean just in football or all sports. Since some of the schools do not have a football team and in basketball some are in the landmark conference. Not all of the schools have wrestling. So could you narrow it down for an old man???

BTEXPRESS

I was thinking Football only. My top three would be Dickinson, Muhlenberg and Hopkins. I guess the fact that all three have been there for over ten years does make a difference. All three have won the Centennial conference championship over the past few years and seem to be good solid coaches. I think F &M and Usinus have nice up and coming coaches.

old ends

Dickinson is losing 21 seniors, Muhlenburg 14, Ursinus 19, and Moravin 14.
McDaniel has also been very good in the long run just an off year for them. Moravin and Juniata are new comers to the Conference, but in the past Moravin has also been a very good team.
Overall..??
John Hopkins, McDaniel, Muhlenburg.

followed by- Dickinson, Moravin, Ursinus. Gettysburg in a pretty tight order

Happy New Year,

I couldn't stay away any longer...withdrawl from d3 is nasty.....and I only said I'd

be back next year. I like the coaches for the Mules, the Red Devils and Hopkins.
They all have class, staying power, and real good fundamentals on both sides of the ball. Regional Coach of the Year Donnelly , Darwin Breaux, and Hopkins bossman all produce real good products from similar raw materials.....smart kids
who are athletic and dedicated to winning.

Hopkins and Dickinson will challenge the Mules in '08....Mules are in pretty fair shape, just a few big holes to fill from graduation......

Muledaddy, hope the withdraws were not to bad. I said before that the Muhls had 14 seniors on the team. Will thier departure have any effect on next years team?? Remember I am a fan of the whole conference and not of one team.

Old Ends,
Thank you for the ECAC all star post...4 Mules in the group(Musselman, Johnson,
Good, and Aitkens (soph). It's going to be tough tryiing to replace an All American
like Johnson and the other above named star senior players.I am concerned,
but have great faith in the system.Meanwhile, I see a strong conference, with just about every team posing a challenge, especially Dickinson, Hopkins, Moravian,
and Ursinus.
Meanwhile, The College of New Jersey has given up on us so we are looking for a
replacement game. I see that Wesley is looking for one also. Maybe I should
broker the deal.
I can't think of a better challenge to start the season.

Pat Coleman

You make it sound like TCNJ was dying to get out of the vaunted Muhlenberg contract, rather than realizing that TCNJ and the entire NJAC has two more conference games starting next season.

Just think,,, Swarthmore and Haverford may someday bring football back, then the Centennial conference would have a full boat. :D :D :D

That is the same day I win the Lottery.  I will keep dreaming..

Thanks  Pat,

Some of us have to work for a living (outside of d3football,) your research and knowledge is truly apppreciated
and justifies yor title as guru. I live for the day that I have the time and opportunity to reach the lofty
heights.

Meanwhile, any  ideas for a goame for us Mules?l Thanks. We are lookingforsomething over Labor Day weekiend or the next week. Thanks.

muledaddy

Lo and behold,

Thanks to Pat and the boys at d3 posting openings, it appears Wesley is open for 9/6, when I think we probably would have been playing TCNJ. I let the coach know and hope
things can fall into place. Thanks Pat.

There are some match ups that would be nice to see. Looking at the open date's Muhlenberg and Ursinus do not show, which is quite possible they have not thought about next season yet.

Wesley, Waynesburg, and Western Connecticut also show open dates. Any of those schools would be very good games for the Conference.

muledaddy

Hi Old,

As of today, 1/21/ Wesley is under consideration...I will put Waynesburg and Western Connn out there when I see the Athletic director and head coach at the Mules  team banquet next Sunday, 1/27.Let's see if we can make some hey....
