You will make muledaddy happy about the turf and the possible game.
Wilkes would be a good game for them. Most of the MAC teams are very good teams.
Keep posting and us informed

thanks

Neckbeard and Old Ends,
Thank you for the update. I do appreciate our playing Wilkes on 9/6.

Shame on poor old coach Hamilton if he was a crybaby all tear long and insisted
that  the Mule victory over  his powerhouse team (TCNJ) was a fluke. Ha-Ha.
I do think they had a nice team, but lets get real. Which team was 10-) before the playoffs ?

Wilkes will be trouble...we scrimmage them every year and they are big, fast, and
hard to handle....I hope we can rise to the occasion.I suspect we will have to play
a very good game on both sides of the ball to start this season on a winning note.

Looks like your team will have a new scrimmage game. That in itself could be fun.
WIlkes will also be looking for a new get down and dirty scrimmage.

Hey Old,

Any ideas on a good scrimmage team for the Mules. The annual knock down drag'em out scrimmages of the past with Wilkes were as hard or harder than any league games. We would gauge how our team was progressing by how well we
stood up to Wilkes, despite their superior size.

Maybe Albright or Widener would be good scrimmage teams, since we have put on a little weight .

dont know what it was all about but Hamilton continuously said that the Lions were better than the Mules all year long and said that the Mules simply got lucky in beating them

Do you have any proof of that? I never read it anywhere.

I missed this, the Sportsmanship Award.  It was posted on the 7th of November and here is the link:

I seriously doubt Coach Hamilton would have said anything like that.  It's not his style.

Neckbeard

It was in an article I read right after the game where Hamilton just said that they were better than Muhlenberg...but what coach wouldnt think they were better...I think it was in the Allentown Morning Call but I cant pull up the article without having to pay for it...I dont know what his style is and im not trying to say anything bad about the guy but besides the extra games TCNJ has to play next year if he did have ill feelings toward Muhlenberg it might have had something to do with the game being dropped...I have heard rumors that the Lions ended every practice with a Muhlenberg chant during their winning streak

Saying something "continuously" and to a newspaper after a loss are two different things.

I agree about coaches generally focusing on their own team and they things they didn' do rather than what the other team did do.

If I had to guess, a conflict over dropping a game would be less personal and more based on a contractual element or something concrete, like the site of the game or time of kickoff or something that the home team didn't handle well for the visitors. A lot of games just get dropped due to tight travel budgets or "finding a better fit" for that date on the schedule. Many coaches want a game they can win, some prefer a game that will push their team, some don't think one way or the other. Also, some teams who are locked into several conference games struggle to balance the schedule in terms of home and away games. They might find a team that's a good fit but they both need a home game to get a 5 and 5. FWIW.

Not saying a personal conflict can't be the source of it, just saying that in my experience, games are dropped for competitive or 'can't come to an agreement' reasons more than anything.

I agree for the most part but there have been games dropped late in the summer that makes you wonder. Ferrum ended there long standing rivalry with Wesley abruptly in the summer a few years ago. The team that stumps me is Waynesburg. They dropped Wesley stating conference commitments and yet I see them showing a lot of open dates this year.  Of course Wesley shows a lot of open dates too.

What are everyone's thoughts on the Centennial Conferences outlook for 2008? Who will be the top teams and players? Any top recruits going to make an impact?

wesleydad

muledaddy, just checking in to say hi.  you keep up the info.  good luck this year, wish we were playing in the regular season, but do your job and we will see you in the playoffs.

labart96

You may have better luck asking this question on the SOUTH region football boards.  Although many CC teams are in PA, you guys aren't technically part of the east (at least not how these boards are set up).

Has anybody heard about any of the teams recruiting classes?
