BT,

muledaddy

Mules are student athletes...team GPA broke 3.0...team went 10-0...the work in the class is getting done,

and the work on the field can get done...again.......mule team must pull together...hard work is one of the two things Mules are known for..........

BTEXPRESS

Muledaddy, That team GPA says a lot about the character of the kids and the program. It looks like you won't have to be worried about playing the Red Devils at night, at least not this year. Looking at the Dickinson schedule and they only play ONE night game and that is a Friday night (??) game against F & M. Not sure why you would go to all the expense of putting in lights only to play one game? Personally, I think more games should be played at night if you have the capability. I think night games create a great atmosphere for football.

BT

I like your style...night games rule........in a league with a lot of class, night compettion is a great idea..

Dickinson is going to be tough, as usual, but I don't know if I could stand a game like last year, where

we spotted them 17 early points and reached down deep, on both sides of the ball, to pull out a win.

I tried to find, and of course it is diffferent for each school, if the conference has  mandated a GPA the student athlete must maintain. My Nephew had to keep a 2.75 or higher when he was at Wilkes. I remember talking to someone at Dickinson who thought they had to keep a high GPA to play any sports.

Mates,

Lets talk preseason picks....conference, nation, all americans......any takers?

old ends

In a few weeks Conferences will start picking there pre season everything.
It will give move to chew on. Both the good, the bad, and the ugly

BTEXPRESS

Other Juniata, not sure if any other school in the conference has released a list of their incoming Freshman. Agree Old Ends, we are about a month away from really getting into a serious discussion about this season, should be a good one.

Loudmouth

The 2008 college previews have been issued by Lindy's and The SPorting News.  Muhlenberg was ranked in both.  7th in the Sporting News with an offensive lineman on the all-america team.  DIckinson listed as another team to watch.  What does everyone think of these rankings and how will it affect the Mules this season now that they wont be suprising anybody?  I think another team to look out for this year is Hopkins.  ANy thoughts?

muledaddy

Loud,
Thk you for the mule info. I
also fear Hopkins as a team to be reckoned with on the journey, together with Dickinson. Where and
how do I find the ratings yo reference. I see them as realistic. If the Mules maintain focus, the sky is
the limit: if not,......oh well........
Offense  is going to be strong again;defense must reach deep to match last year's numbers

Q-back is the general...his 64% passing and 149 efficiency last year will have to be matched or bettered.
Backs, receivers, and both lines are ging to be  fine.

Linebackers must step up to replace 2 all conference grads:defensive backfield is intact.

The stage is set.......the challenge has been therown down...each team will want a piece of Mulehide.....
it has the potential to be a most interesting season for the Mules and their opponents....no easy games..
a day at a time...a play at a time..a practice at a time......How bad do the Mules want it....we will see...

Loudmouth

THe rankings are in the two major college football season previews.  Lindy's magazine and the SPorting NEws magazine.  You can either get them online at their websites or at any convenience store/ pharmacy/ supermarket.

Mule,

Will QUarterback be able to maintain efficiency with the loss of all-american tight end?  DO they have a good pass catching tight end waiting in the wings?  Or do they go to a more spread offense this year?

muledaddy

Loud,

I think we are going to be Ok with 2 capable TE men  stepping up, although its not really possible

to expect them to be All Americans like Matt Johnson proved to be. Interestingly, it waas Johnson's

1st year at the position and he played it like he was made for it.......The Mules just have to pull together
and follow the lead this year of big number 64, center Mike "Tiny" Nolan, another All American.

Santagato will take care of business at QB, as ever.Sooner or later, they all stop saying he is too small,

muledaddy

In Passing,

Nice article on Muhlenberg website today......get some paint ...targets are on the Mules, ranked 7,9,22

in national mags preseason.......10 of 11 offense starters returning...we need some defense and I

think that coach has what he needs to fill the spots........the program is getting deeper, stronger,

more committed........challenging job for the coaches...

old ends

the target is always on the returning champ. even by teams outside the conference who want to be noticed.

old ends

Some of the other teams have released thier roosters.
