I have a question for the McDaniel fans, with the Ravens holding their training camp in Wetminster and using all the facilities, how does that affect McDaniel's team when they report to their camp on August 13th?

BTEXPRESS

Sorry, WESTMINSTER, remember I can't type fast!!!

BT,

There is trouble in paradise........the new turf installation is running behind schedule..........where o where

can a mulepack graze......its going to be close for an opening day, make that night, 9/6 finish......yikes

Muledaddy
is there anymore info that you could give us about the field ? and do you think that it will be ready for there night game against Wilkes on the 6th ?

BTEXPRESS

Muledaddy

I hope it works out, we all know the Mules would never want to give up their HOME FIELD advantage in their opener.(HA HA), keep us updated on the progress. Dickinson's field also has a lot left to do before the 9/6 opener against Grove City. However, if the season started today, they could play,as the field and new lights are finished. They still need to erect the new away grand stands and finish building a new wall around the stadium. Does anyone know of any other renovations done to other stadium/fields in the conference?

Greek/BT,

I will have more info in early part of the week and you will know what I know.........good turf, bad turf, no turf......look for an update at that time

muledaddy

BT et al,

Muletime update..no 8 preseason d3 rating is sweet......turf problem is not;seems that someone
excavated and broke a pipe....then they filled the base with the wrong stone...obviously, someone
lacking a centenniel conference engineering degree created a tad of a quagmireI note with interest that the d3 schedule has always listed the mules opener at Wilkes...perhaps psychic lurks among us....YIKES

BTEXPRESS

Muledaddy, I am confused, Muhlenberg's official website has the 9/6 game against Wilkes listed as a HOME GAME, while D 3 Football has it listed as an away game. Maybe Pat & his spies know something the rest of the Mule fans don't know (HA HA)

Pep has learned that Alfred will scrimmage Muhlenberg at Binghamton High School Stadium on August 30. The Saxons open with Ursinus at home on Sept. 6.

Didn't see too much room for improvement for the Mules over last year's record except for a deeper run in the NCAAs. What do the Mules lose from last year? If it is essentially the same team as 2007, it will be a tremendous test for Alfred... and a great way for the Saxons to prepare for Ursinus.

Can someone enlighten Pep on what Alfred will be facing in the Aug. 30 scrimmage? Offensive style...defensive strengths? Anyone going to the scrimmage?

Pep has Band Camp scheduled but is toying with the idea of bringing the band to Binghamton for said Band Camp.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

The pundits (coaches and SIDs) have spoken ... and Muhlenberg is the preseason choice to win the 2008 Centennial football title.  No team has won back-to-back outright championships since McDaniel turned the trick in 1999 and 2000.

The Mules received 14 first-place votes (out of 16) for 126 points to easily outdistance Dickinson (98) and Ursinus (90).  Johns Hopkins, Moravian, Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall, McDaniel and Juniata rounded out the poll.  Teams are not permitted to vote for themselves.

1-Muhlenberg (14), 126
2-Dickinson, 98
3-Ursinus, 90
4-Johns Hopkins (2), 86
5-Moravian, 77
6-Gettysburg (2), 72
7-Franklin & Marshall, 52
8-McDaniel, 29
9-Juniata, 18

I always wonder who the coach of the team picked to finish first in the conference voted for if he can't vote for his team.  In this case I wonder who else did not vote for Muhlenberg.

BTEXPRESS

Splik, Welcome back, you haven't posted in a long time. Well, that is a pretty good question, but I guess it was either Hopkins or G'burg as they were the only two other teams to receive first place votes. But your question does bring up food for thought on these polls. Do you vote for your top opponent, in this case Dickinson, or do you vote for a school that you know can't compete, but will sway the poll in your direction? Not sure if this was the intent in this poll by the Mule's coach and SID.

BT<SPLIK<PEP,

I think the new contractor has his hands full trying to get the field done for
I think the Mule Master, coach D, and the SID, iron Mike F, voted for the  worthy
opposition, Dickinson.
Pep, see the conference media guide...what you see is what you get....10 of 11 returning on offense..6
of 11 We know the Saxons are tough....one of them comes from Phoenixville, Pa....as does one of the Mules.........it should be a hell of a scrimmage......we are getting targets painted  our backs since we
know everyone is gunning for us after last years run..muledaddy wants to see a rematch with last years
foil, Wesley.......and then we can dream about a game on 12/20/08....in a place called Salem..seeya

Hey Muledaddy, what do you think of The Mules chances are against Wilkes ?
