I think the Mules have a very good chance.. Wilkes lost a key player at linebacker. Follweiler.

There may be some Upsets this year. Vote above....

Greek,

I really like Wilkes, a big, strong tough bunch of kids. They beat  you up physically  as i  recall from

scrimmages in last few years.Follweiler was very very good.

We just have to trudge along and do our work and , with a lucky bounce or two, maybe we can get by.

Wilkes always seems to have a multitude of big guys on their team.  When I played against them their stud tailback looked as big as some of our OL and DL.  What do they put in the water up there?
Clearly, Muhlenberg's coach and/or  SID voted for teams that may be able to sneak up someone this season based upon the poll.  Aside from the very top and very bottom, the poll points to a pretty competitive league this season.

Saw this article about Gettysburg football:

OF course McDaniel also had an article. Muledaddy you should read the comment, which is very true, from your coach in this article.

Old,
Thanks for the steering.the articles on the conference were interesting. Once again, the Mule Master,

Chief Coasch Donnelly, hit the nail on the head....this is one real good conference without compromise on the academic focus of these schools. Any team can, and will, take advantage of a good bounce, on any given Saturday, with only one guarantee.......there will be some upsets.....focus........wasn't that one of the four principle  themes of last year's Mules?
I will inspect the progress on the field tomorrow and post a report on my observations....peace

Old,, frankly, it is going to be touch and go about getting things done for the 9/6 night opener.

the field turf is not down in Muletown.....stone is in place, pipes await repair after inadvertent destruction of the j pipe drainage  system, and its going to take a minor miracle to get it together.

Meanwhile, the new season brings hope, prayers, and a lot of hard work ahead. The joy of football
is in the air.....get out the sleds.......

Hey Muledaddy
is there any truth to the rumor that Muhlenberg booked a local high school field just for a back up plan for Sept. 6th ?
Which is a good move on there part.

BTEXPRESS

Can you say J Burney Crum stadium against Wilkes? It is a great old stadium with plenty of seating ( over 12,000). If that is true, it wouldn't be a bad plan B for the Mules, rather than go to Wilkes.

Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

@d3jason

I played at J Burney Crum, when I was a freshman in college, of course that was 21 years ago (gulp.)  Big stadium built into the side of a hill. Seemed like you could trip over the yard lines because of years of lime building up when they lined the field.
