Quick question about my alma mater... I'm a '92 Red Devil grad, (did not play football but i played baseball there) is Dickinson as bad as there record shows, a 5-4 record isn't up the "normal" Red Devil standard. That being said, with most of the offense returning and most of the defense leaving, how would you expect them to be next season? and I hate to say this, but Go Mules and represent the CC with pride.

BTEXPRESS

CC, The Red Devils could very well be 8-1 going into the final week of the season. Lost opening game to Hobart (7-1) by 7. Devils had the lead late in the game only to let up two TD's in the final minutes. Lost to McDaniel by 7. Game was played in the pouring rain and the Devils fumbled twice inside the five yard line. Still had a chance to tie when time ran out and they were inside McDaniel's ten yard line. Lost to Hopkins (7-2) by 2. Were down 33-0 only to miss a tying two point conversation with a minute to go. Lost to Muhlenberg by 6. Although they lose some players on Defense, they should be ok for next season. They have all their key players back on Offense and started two Freshman on the O line who can only get better.

BTEXPRESS

Muledaddy, take it from someone who feels your frustration with the healthcare situation. I also pay almost $20,000 a year for Health Insurance. Like I said yesterday, I had to go through TWO children a year apart who suffered ACL injuries. The frustarting part is not knowing what the injury actually is at this point. We had to see our Family doctor first to get a referral for an X Ray(waste of time) because we couldn't get an MRI without an X ray first. Then in both cases we had to wait a week or so before we could schedule the MRI. I think it will go smoothly once you know the extent of the damage if any. I too felt my kids should be treated like like a pro athlete. When Donovan McNabb hurt his knee, he and the Eagles both knew what was going on within 24 hours. In both of my children's cases, we didn't know until almost TWO WEEKS later. It is my understanding that my health insurance is primary also if my son gets hurt playing for Dickinson unless it is an emergency.

Mates,
The preliminary verdict is in...it's an ACL tear.......we get a brace, he does some exercises, he may or may not have a shot at the 2nd round in the playoffs...
and surgery will probably be done over the Christmas break. All things being considered,
I am ok, he is ok, his mom is ok...it was the delay and insurance company bull**** that was driving us crazy........
On another topic, I felt that Dickinson was going to be very strong pre-season.
I can see how they got a few bad bounces..I had picked them 2nd in my preseason poll...they will be kickass next year since they have a great core
returning.
Moravian was more of a preseason sleeper, although they were on my radar because they had talented young kids last season.
Hopkins was tough last year so I felt they would be tougher this year, having figured them for a 3rd behind Dickinson.
Gettysburg was a queston mark preseason, knowing they had the arm, but wondereing if they had the receivers and the defense.
The rest played out about as expected, in a great season of CC football, which has made me seriously think theat I am hoked for life on CC- D3.
Good day, good fortune, God Bless, and thanks for all the suport during the insane delay.

Muledaddy
I'm very happy that things turned out the way they did for your son, tell him to hang in there.
These Mules have to bring there A Game for this Saturday against a very good Moravian Team, Moravian has everything to gain and nothing to lose, so the gloves will be off, and the rain gear will be on. Thats one thing that i have noticed about this team they never look ahead, which i think has added to there success this year and last year.
So this should be a real good game to watch from both sides of the field.

GO MULES !!!

Murphy

I noticed that someone posted the following "What a shame for the Juniata team! Coach Alt did a good job with that program. They were moving in the right direction!"

The Eagles won what, a game a year under Alt for 5 years and he thinks the team was headed in the right direction?  Players came and went, the common denominator in 5 years was Alt and his POOR decisions.

Whether it was picking assistant coaches or choosing which players played where, or his failure to make changes to his offense to reflect the skill level of his players.

Coach Alt is a gentleman and a very nice guy but he reached the pinnacle of ineptitude as a head coach.

The Juniata athletic administration may have set that program back 10 years keeping him around that long.

Whatever goes contrary to fact, no matter how fond of it we are, must be revised or discarded.  Carl Sagan

I absolutely agree with that statement. 5 wins in 5 years does not cut it. I've had the opportunity to meet Alt and he was a class act, just time to move on from the program.

BTEXPRESS

It was my understanding being up at Huntingdon last weekend that Juniata is wiping the slate clean and will let the new coach pick his own staff. Probably a good idea.

Reserved Seat

Almost forgot to do this.  Tomorrow will be my ninth day on jury day.  I hope it ends tomorrow.

Well here goes:
Guess-em's for 11/15/08

Muhlenberg
F & M
Dickinson
John Hopkins

Bonus--Ithaca-only because I was born in Ithaca 60 years ago.  My parents were completing grad work at Cornell.

Fun--Millsap

I, too, hope Muledaddy's son recovers quickly.
I currently wear a full ankle brace from an injury suffered in 1969 due to a college sports injury.
Fortunately, medical care has improved drastically.  Unfortunately, the system has gotten worse.

Mule:

Hopefully your son will be able to play in round two. Bummer having to undergo a procedure over Christmas break. But they are young and recover quickly.

Looks like a wash out for Sat. Will watch live stats as stated before.

Mates,
It's 9 am and the weather is best desribed as a monsoon. The Mules season started in a hurricane, opening night agaisnst Wilkes, had a midpoint that was best described as a super-soaker,(the
F and M game), and wraps up the regular season in this mess.I do not know how Moravian has fared in the rain and muck, but the Mules have found a way to win.Wet balls, fumbles, short tempered soaked humans,
have not stopped the train. The caboose will be missing today, unable to block for his backfield buddy, run
those short yardage first downs, pick up those short pass yardage plays that sometimes turn into more,
and return those kickoffs for good field position. After 4 yrs of D3 football, he has been relelgated by injury to a
sideline spot where he will be the  2nd biggest cheerleader for the guys on the field, his dad being no. 1.

GO MULES.......GO....GO.. GO...for you have given us so much.....
