WOW is right.  I think that McDaniel's O-Line forgot that Saturdays are game day.  They had better get some things figured out before a good team comes out and beats them really badly.  But as we all know, a loss is a loss, no matter who it is to, let's hope this is enough to spark some emotion in the terror, enough to go 5-0 the remainder of the season.  Good luck Terror--go make us proud

jugman

Yes...I agree.  This was the first game I observed this season and the Terror certainly did not look prepared.  No emotion at all.  The Bullets took the opening kick 95 yards to the house.  So much for winning the flip and deferring!  It appeared that the QB needs to be Wenrich until Baer returns.  That was obvious based on the offense today.   Maybe the o-line needs a shake up before someone else gets hurt.  The Bullets definately had more emotion and drive today.

I was at the game for most of it. No heart from the terror, came out slow again. Didn't turn it on till the 4th quarter again, too little too late this time. Congrats to Gettysburg on the win. McDaniel has the potential to be such a powerhouse, but can't come up with the emotion to play they way they do the 4th quarter all the time. Maybe it's good they lost this week, wake somebody up. Maybe with a little help they can still pull out a conference championship, or atleast a piece of it.

QB's were alternated all day. Maybank wasn't dressed and the D looked to have a lot of new numbers on the field. The O-Line were not even visible, Gettysburg was in the backfield all day.
From the stands I heard a lot of parents complaining about the refs, it looked as if Keating was doing the same on the sidlelines about every call that didn't go the Terror's way. Being bias myself routing for the Terror, I saw a few calls that could have went either way, but nothing that could have take the blame of McDaniel for their own poor preformance.

Maybe the coach and fans expected more time to be put on the clock after losing in regulation ( like vs Catholic)...guess that only happens at McDaniel ( or against non-Centennial teams)

I used the comments from the Sunday News for only one reason - I couldn't have possibly said what that long-time F&M follower did.  The reason I posted that was two-fold...I haven't personally seen F&M this season and that was the most descriptive anyone had been about them, and secondly...the Dips' early performance has been incredibly disappointing considering where I'd thought they'd be this season.

How wrong I was.  Was the writer's comments harsh?  Yes, I think so - was it accurate?  Look at the boxscores.  Harner was a first-team QB and his numbers are far from it so far this season.

Speaking of first-team QB's...gonna be hard to pick one from this lot in the CC...more on that in my column this week.

How about you give some credit to the teams that have proven something instead of the ones who have made you look silly with your 10-0 prediction?

Actually, having attended the BC/McDaniel game I can tell you that BC got a second added to the clock after the 4 th quarter clock expired (correctly). BC was sacked on the Terror 41 yard line on the "extra" play.

And who has done that Mandefense?  In the Centennial?

There might be a couple decent wins, most notably McDaniel's win over a previously untested quarterback.  Which is pretty much wiped out by the loss yesterday.  No chance McDaniel sniffs the top 25 for the rest of the year.

Muhlenberg's win over TCNJ?  Don't think so...

Any others?

That's your job, Pat.  Just wanted to bust your chops a bit about your pre-season F&M prediction.   :)

I think the South region, specifically the Mid-Atlantic (your region), as a whole has been pretty mediocre this season.  There's a couple of undefeateds, but no one's wowed me yet.

In the prior posts about the Gettysburg upset of McDaniel -- observations about McD's lack of emotion, O line attitude and possible reffing issues -- the primary observation has been overlooked: Gettysburg flat-out was the better team on the field.  The Bullets defense dominated McD almost the entire game.  The Bullet offense did enough to get a victory and the special teams play of GC was superb.  Bottom line: give the credit to GC for their win and don't whine about a "potential powerhouse" falling short against a lesser team.  The better team won the game on Saturday -- I know that is hard for the Conference and the Terror to accept, but it is the truth.  And, by the way, the refs were far harsher on Gburg than McD; the stats support that -- also, there was a ton of holding by McD overlooked, the gift of a bogus running into the kicker call that lead to 3 points, and a personal foul call (not sure what that one was about) that was a key to a McD TD.  Keating ALWAYS complains about the reffing -- especially when his team is getting it handed to him.

Mandfense...

I concur.  The Mid-Atlantic is really weak.

Bullet, please,
say what you want, build yourself up, think you are a quality team.  What you have is a bad loss for a McDaniel team that wasn't playing to their potential.  As for the calls...were you at the game, i think the rain blocked your view, the calls were pathetic at times, although in the end it was pretty even, they were bad both ways.  I think you are still living off what will be a short lived high thinking your team is better than they are.  Enjoy your place at the bottom of the conference next week.  Meanwhile, McDaniel hopefully is getting back their will to win and will come out and show the kind of team that they really are.  By the way Bukket, were you not listening to the stats at half time, other than one opening drive, you all would have never had a chance at that game, you took McD out of it, which never should have happened, so congrats, but other than that, you are nothing but a slightly below par team that will remain that wy in years to come.

TerrorFan

Possibly the worst part of not playing up to your potential, is listening to people like bullet talk about how great they are because they beat you, and not being able to say anything about it. Look at my post again, 2nd sentence, "Congrats to G-Burg on the win."
Yes, you won, Saturday you were the better team for those few hours. Now that you've talked about how great G-Burg is, that their obviouslly better than McD,  lets see how they do the rest of the season, lets see if they live up to your talk....

Current Record (2-3) (1-0) The presures on.......

As for McDaniel like I said before, hopefully they wake up. They are a much better team than they showed on saturday, and in every other game they've squeaked out this season.

The Dickinson game is going to be tough...

Some thoughts from the weekend:

Another unfortunate loss for the Dips

20-2 Mules over Dicks=very surprised. What has happened to the Dicks?

Gburg over McDaniel:  Gburg has been playing McDaniel tough in previous games. Looks like they got over the hump

Ursinus over Newport News:  Sounds like a lucky break with an offsides penalty on a PAT.  Is Gallagher (QB) hurt?

bulletsalum

Terror boosters, say what you want, but what happens on the field is all that counts and Gettysburg on Saturday was the better team.  You can't hide from the scoreboard, and you sure can't blame your loss on the refs.   Let's let the next 5 weeks speak for themselves as to whether Gburg does better and McD does worse than you guys think.
