CCfan27 - 11-6 - .647 win pct
Muledaddy - 10-6 - .625 win pct
Bubdad - 9-8 - .529 win pct
69 Mule - 10-7 - .588 win pct

GoHop - 5-1 - .833 win pct

Looks like there were some good games throughout the CC this weekend. I don't have too much insight on any of the games but would like to hear some people thoughts if they were at any of the games. I listened to a good portion of the Moravian game and it was simply another case of no offensive support. The defense is on the field for too long and is bound to give up some points when you put them in certain situations. Most teams are not going to win many games in the CC scoring less than 10 points. Interesting to see McDaniel at 3-0 but I'd say the easier part of their schedule is over and they will certainly be tested in the coming weeks.

Games for this week:

Dickinson at McDaniel
Juniata at Franklin & Marshall
Gettysburg at Muhlenberg
Johns Hopkins at Moravian
Susquehanna at Ursinus

GoHop

My picks:

Dickinson
F&M
Gettysburg
JHU
Ursinus

JHU-Morvaian should be an interesting game. Moravian usually has a decent defense and this year isn't doing much offensively. Hopkins, on the other hand has been racking up big offensive numbers but their defense has also been giving up lots of points. Hardest game for me to pick is Gettysburg/Muhlenberg. I don't think the mules can put up enough points to keep up with the bullets nor do I think their defense can get Gettysburg to fire blanks. Susquehanna I think has been a disapointment so far or maybe it just shows that the Centennial conference is better than most people give it credit for.

With people joining the pick 'ems late we are going to end up with a pretty big discrepancy in number of games picked if we don't do something about it soon. There are a couple options that I was thinking of (if anyone has any other ideas let me know). I could give a few extra games each week until people catch up (We could either choose MAC games since they are in the same area as most of the CC schools, or we could pick a few top 25 games, or some combination of this). Or we could drop the worst weeks for the people that have picked all the games until we get to the same number of picked games.

I am kind of torn between the 2 options because this is supposed to be a CC pool and we all probably know more about the CC schools than any of the other conferences so picking games from other conferences may not be a fair process. But also as of now the people that have picked all the games would end up dropping their 3 worst weeks. Let me know which you guys would prefer or if there are any other ideas. I am open to anything.

Why not just leave in all the games for now and just base it on win percentage. At the end of the season if this doesn't work out fairly for the people that made picks in all the games then make adjustments by dropping one or more of the first three weeks when not everyone was participating.

We can do that, we can just see how it shakes out at the end and determine from there. After all, this is all for fun anyway.

Yes, the pickem's are for fun.  But to be fair, maybe we should limit the contest to those who have entered by this weekend's games.  The reason being that it is much harder to pick the games in the first few weeks since there have been fewer games and less basis for comparison.

As far as the winning percantage as the basis for winning the "title", that seems fair to me.

In past years we did not only limit the picks to CC teams.  We 2 had bonus picks each week from outside the CC.  This is fun because it gets us to take a look at other conferences and teams outside the CC.

Bubdad was at the SU/Muhlenberg game of course. Ouch! The Crusaders are having a rough season so far and an absolute disaster in the red zone. Muhlenberg has an excellent organization and coaching staff that will carry them past some better teams. Based on past experience I was surprised to see such a small turnout of Mule fans.
Went with my gut on picks last week, that's why I suffer frequent indigestion. Regarding the Pick 'em title a minimum number of games would probably be the standard, same as batting and scoring titles. Probably not critical unless there's a big prize I didn't hear about, it's just fun to try and get them right.
My picks this week,

Dickinson
F&M
Gettysburg
Johns Hopkins
Susquehanna (have to keep believing)

Ursinus over Susquehanna

Interested to see how McDaniel fares against Dickinson this week, I'd say it's their first real test of the year. Gettysburg vs. Muhlenberg could be a tight one. The others I personally believe are easy wins for F&M, JHU and Ursinus, but you never know in the CC, upsets have happened before.

Pickems:

Dickinson
Franklin & Marshall
Muhlenberg
Johns Hopkins
Susquehanna

It's time for the Crusaders to get after it and pull off a road upset against a solid Bear eleven.
