Thanks to 69Mule and Muledaddy for the good Hounds karma this weekend...Hounds are a completely different team from their first 4 games and I think it all starts with Johnson at QB. He gives them the ability to score and I think that it has allowed the defense to play more comfortably instead of playing so tight, knowing that if they gave up points they were probably going to lose. Makes you wonder where the Hounds would be if Johnson had been at QB all year.

Big showdown in Allentown next week, if the mules pull it off they have to come to Bethlehem the following week and get a win to win the conference and get into the playoffs. And we know what happened last time the Mules came to Bethlehem haha sorry mules fans had to take that shot.  ;D

Anyway, I might have to make the short trip over to Allentown next Saturday and watch this one. Who would've thought at the beginning of the year that Muhlenberg would enter the last 2 weeks with the ability to control their own destiny and get into playoffs again? They certainly don't stay down for long over there in Atown.

Good Luck in the last couple weeks to all teams and it'll be fun to see how this all shakes out.

Sorry Grove, got caught up in the exciting game I saw in Bethlehem this weekend. I did see a short article on the Gettysburg-Susquehanna game and it seems like it was quite wild. Gettysburg down 50-27 and scores 34 unanswered to come back and win?! That's a shame for Susquehanna who has had a tough year to surrender that type of lead and lose the game, I certainly don't think 1-8 is what Susquehanna was expecting coming into this year. Gettysburg just always seems to know how to score points, if they could put together a stout defense they would certainly contend for a CC title. Did turnovers do Susquehanna in? It seems like there had to have been something for Gettysburg to get that many possessions in the last 18 minutes of the game...

Read in the Morning Call this morning that Mules can clinch the conference with a win over Ursinus and Hopkins beating F&M. I believe Ursinus would clinch with just a win this weekend as they would have beaten everyone they could be tied with at the end of the season regardless of their outcome against Dickinson.

The only scenario that I am unsure of who would get the AQ is if Mules beat Ursinus this weekend, F&M beats Hopkins. Then the Mules lose to Moravian the following weekend and F&M and Ursinus win their games. In this instance it would be Muhlenberg, Ursinus, and F&M tied at the top with each of them having a 1-1 record against the other 2 teams. Does anyone know how that shakes out for the AQ in that instance?

ccfan27

After a little more research, it looks as though it would end up coming down to Strength of Schedule as I don't think the 2nd criteria can break the tie according to the conference manual's tiebreaker rules. As of today Muhlenberg, F&M and Ursinus are separated by a mere .008 on the SOS criteria with Ursinus as the highest. That all will change each week though with the outcomes of the teams they played and teams they still have on their schedule. I am sure the conference adminstrators are hoping this is played out on the field and one of the easier scenarios decide it. Either way, if the Mules win out they are in, If Ursinus beats Muhlenberg they are in. If F&M loses this weekend, the Mules vs. Ursinus game decides the AQ. Just some food for thought on the possible scenarios in the coming weeks.

My Picks:

Ursinus
F&M
Gettysburg
Dickinson
Susquehanna

I am actually somewhat rooting for the Mules this week and an F&M win so that the Mules come to Bethlehem on the 13th with the CC Title on the line for them. I personally believe Ursinus will win as they aren't going to be happy about the loss to Moravian last week and can clinch the AQ this weekend. Should be a good weekend of football...
