Picks Summary:

Ccfan27- 39-16 .709 win pct
Muledaddy - 40-14 .741 win pct
69Mule- 39-16 .709 win pct
Oldends- 21-10 .677 win pct
GoHop - 29-10 .744 win pct
Wearinthered - 20-9 .690 win pct
ReservedSeat- 28-10 .737 win pct

Did not submit picks this week
Bubdad- 19-16 .543 win pct

I think the regular season pick 'ems championship should go to Muledaddy...while GoHop has the highest win pct, when i look back over games that muledaddy and GoHop both picked, Muledaddy has a higher win pct in those games. In commonly picked games Muledaddy picked 30 out of 38 games correct and GoHop picked 28 out of 38 games correct.

Either way it has been fun to pick the games all year and see what everyone thinks going into the games each week.

As for this past weekends games...What a game in Bethlehem, as the Hounds used a blocked extra point with about a minute left to beat the Mules. I was really surprised by this, because in my time playing in the CC, Muhlenberg was always one of the more sound teams on special teams and for them to have a game tying XPT blocked and a FG blocked earlier is somewhat unbelievable. It's amazing how Moravian turned around their season and they have been rewarded for that turnaround by received an ECAC birth at Wilkes on Saturday. Good Luck to the Mules at Wesley on Saturday, you certainly have a tall order but congratulations on the AQ and represent the CC to the best of your ability. Any other insight from other games would be appreciated. Only other game that stuck out to me really was Gettysburg beating F&M pretty handily...

That sounds fair to me, Muledaddy also submitted picks for a couple of weeks that I missed. He deserves the championship.

Comments on the Hopkins-McDaniel game. Hopkins looked good, although the running game is still suspect. McDaniel on the other hand was not as good as I thought they would be. I was surprised at how small their running backs were. Against a good quick defense they had many problems. As for next year, Hopkins needs a running back and better O-line push on the run. Otherwise I think they will be very good next year. Combining that with a few other young teams in the conference, like the Mules, next year could be very interesting.

Congrats Muledaddy on this years picks, it was nice having your son over for dinner last sunday, listening to them talk about the 07-08 Mules.
Go Mules !

I think it was about 2 years ago Ursinus could have gone to an EC game out in the Pittsburgh Area against Carnige Mellon, but decided against it because of cost.

I cannot think that cost would be a factor for a 2 hour ride up the PA Turnpike. One source of mine claims that they wanted the game at home. The field at Ursinus is Natural grass( or mud by seasons end) Wilkes is also grass but in better shape.

Even though Ursinus has decided not to play, Moravian, F & M and Johns Hopkins are 3 very good teams to represent the Conference.

Enjoy

The Centennial Conference released the All Star selection:

Congrats to all both players and Coaches.

Johns Hopkins leads with 7 players followed by Muhlenberg 5, Ursinus 4, everyone else, except Dickinson and Juniata, with 2.

I believe there is a certain point in the season that you have to apply to be accepted into an ECAC bowl. With Ursinus being undefeated most of the season, maybe they only wanted NCAA playoffs. I know there is some sort of application process for ECAC games and I think the cutoff for applying is somewhere around the middle of the season. Not too sure on specifics but I had heard that Ursinus did not apply for it this year.

Correction Old Ends Moravian also won the Southeast bowl game today, I believe the final was 26-14. For some reason they were not on the D3football scoreboard or the centennial page. Any way congrats to the Hounds and Hopkins on the wins today and everyone else for very successful seasons...

Just looked at 2010 season stats. Since I tend to watch G'burg, I notice that for the third year in a row the Bullets led the league in offense and finished dead last in defense. Repeat: Third Year In A Row for best offense and worst defense.

Which begs the obvious question: Might it be time to change coaches?
