Congrats to Johns Hopkins on what looks like a heck of a season. I am excited to see a new opponent for Fisher. What should we expect?

To beat Hopkins you have to control the ball.  F&M(3-7) and McDaniel(2-8) both gave Hopkins fits the last 2 weeks, and neither one os an outstanding team.  F&M controlled the ball for over 40 minutes and only lost by 5.  McDaniel controlled the ball for 32 1/2 minutes and only lost by 4.

You can expect a lot of passing supported by a good running attack. Offensively, the team has a lot of weapons and doesn't rely on a single playmaker. The QB is the focal point, and if he gets time to throw, he's tough to beat. Defensively, the DL sets the tone- they will pressure the QB. This past week, they knocked the 1st and 2nd team QBs out of the game.

As a previous poster noted, to beat Hopkins, it needs to be done with a ball control offense. Mediocre teams played Hopkins close the last 2 games of the year. One did it through ball control (40 min TOP), the other via 6 Hopkins turnovers. Don't expect the turnovers to continue, they made very few during the season. Remains to be seen if the Blue Jays were caught looking ahead since they clinched 2 weeks ago - although they were playing for the team's first undefeated season in history.

What's the story with St. John Fisher? What can Hopkins expect?

Thanks for the info!

Offensively SJF is led by their QB/RB Kramer.  Their starting QB broke his hand and Kramer, a D-1 transfer from Colgate, stepped in and has performed admirably. They run a pistol offense with him that uses a lot of zone reads and some sprint option, he's got great speed & can get around the edge quickly.  They like to run the ball behind their big O-line (they average 6'3" 310lbs) and their preseason AA RT.

They have a good pair of starting senior WRs (combined for 137 rec, 1800yds, 21 TDs as JRs) but the lack of a prototypical QB this year has hurt their numbers but they can still make big plays.  They have a SO RB that has taken over halfway though the season, he has deceptive speed & quickness, he wont break one long but he has a knack for getting through a hole quickly & into the 2nd/3rd level.

Defensively they run a hybrid defense, it's like a 3-3-5.  They like to give a bunch of different looks to confuse the O-line & like to bring pressure from everywhere. They have really good trio of safeties that are always around the ball and any three of them can blitz up the middle or off the edge.  They have good size up the middle with their NG (6'6', 325) & their ILBers (6'0" 230, 6'0" 260) that allows them to keep the run game in front of them & allow the 3-3 looks.

They've had two major break downs defensively this year.  One was when an opponent had back to back bye weeks and 21 days to break down the SJF team.  Hobart did a great job of breaking down the SJF defense & the SJF offense was very young and developing since they still were trying to find out what they had at QB with Kramer.  Hobart jumped on top of them early & the SJF offense had 4-5 drives that lasted less than 5 plays to start the game.  Then Salisbury is just Salisbury & their triple option with a legit passing attack is a pain to stop regardless.

I'm pumped to see this match up, SJF's strength has been defense this year and it looks as though Hopkins has a great offense so I'm hoping for a great game either way!
