murph - no one can criticize you for stating the facts.

As much as the 'here we go again' attitude might come out, Dickinson might also be pretty ticked off from losing after having a 17-0 lead and take it out on the Eagles.

Then again, maybe this will be Juniata's week to get off the goose egg.

No one, believe me, no one would like to see Juniata win more than I would.  I may be critical of their game plan but at home on game day I'm standing in the street clapping and urging them on.  And on the road I'm in the stands doing whatever I can to encourage them to win.  I continue to see the players play hard on every play.

I was even suprised and very pleased to see them throw in 2 new plays last week and scored on both on them.

They scored on an 80 yard option play when the fullback (surprise) threw a pass to a receiver who raced the last 60 yards to the end zone.

They scored on another fullback pass on 4th and goal from the 3 when the fullback hit the quarterback in full stride in the end zone.

The coaches deserve a lot of credit for trying something risky and new.

Ursinus VS Muhlenburg

I'm not sure if any of you guys have ever heard of the Born Power Index or not.  It's a website that will give you the spread on any football game, high school or college matching 2 teams from PA and New Jersey.

The index has Muhlenburg projected to be a 4.8 point favorite.

They claim to be right almost 80% percent of the time.

The url is www.bornpowerindex.com.

I have a question for you. Why do you STAND IN THE STREET to watch the home games????

Murphy

The kids come down the street to get to the stadium at least twice for pre-game  activities.  Al the parents and other fans stand and clap as they go by.

Then I go and watch the game from the 50.

I like it, it is great for the High Schools as well. Thanks for sharing with us.

That power index tool is fairly interesting and the 80% correct ratio shows its not a half-assed mathmatecal equation.  Im still going with the Bears and I think the UC defense has something for the Mules.  Just like they shut down the the usually highscoring Moravian attack.

I liked the power index...impressive wining percentage...but there are always exceptions to every rule....

Mules beat Bears but Eagles beat Dallas on Sunday night football. 2 good games.

Look for 2 good defenses in Mule-UC, but 1 noticeably better.....and that makes a difference......aboouot 4.9 pts difference, some would say

Murphy

I used the power index all last year to predict winners for a highschool football pool I was in.  It will give you a idea who was favored based on their criteria but wasn't always accurate.

The game is played on the field not in a data base.

since there is no student radio station coverage, the Centennial Conference will broadcast the big game in Collegeville between Muhlenberg and Ursinus.  Click on http://www.centennial.org/cctv/ for the action beginning at 12:45 p.m.

so the idea is snap to the qb who hands to the fb who passes the ball to someone else?  It's a pass play kinda like little league where everyone gets a chance to touch the ball.

Murphy

Well I think the idea was to try something new and it worked twice.  Two passes two TD's.

Thye tried something similiar today at Dickinson.  Reverse to the wide receiver who  stopped and threw to another wide out wide open but the ball was a little under thrown and got caught in the wind a little and was picked off.

Have to give them credit they tried something new and it would have worked if the ball had just a little more on it.

They had a decent chance to win today but they are still plagued by putting four quarters of good play back to back to back to back.

There is always next year.
