If you don't believe me, did you go back and watch your son's High School play during the four years your son was playing at Muhlenberg?? See what I mean?

If he wasn't still playing, however, you might have felt differently about his high school team.

My point is when your son or daughter stops playing, be it High School or College, you look at the game with different colored glasses. I am fortunate that my son has three more years of playing D3 football. I enjoyed going back this past season and watching his old High School play but it just wasn't the same. Saw the parents I knew and watched the players I knew, but it didn't really matter whether they won or lost. It was more of an entertainment night than a "Wear your feelings on your sleeve" kind of experience. Greek and Muledaddy will probably feel the same this season when they watch the Mules without their sons on the field.

Creek, I just saw the list, Congratulations to both you and Muledaddy for having both of your sons achieve this outstanding award. In the game of life, academics will always outway anything accomplished on the playing fields.

BT.

Thanks for the congrats...I would be less than  honest if I didn't tell you how proud I am of my boy's

performance, on the field and in the classroom, over  these past four years. It's more than I could ever have

prayed for or expected. I would like to share in the congrats with Greek and all the other parents whose

kids have had the chance to play and excel in the classroom simultaneously, no small task.

Any predictions for 2009? Hopkins, Dickinson, G'burg and F & M all seem to have a lot of firepower returning. Historically the Mules usually have one rebuilding year between powerhouses. Could Juniata make some noise this fall by knocking off one of the perennial powers? Opening day is 4 months away...

You would have to say Hopkins and Dickinson will be the two preseason favorites. Both teams return just about all their skillplayers on offense. I think the Mules will be down slightly this season, I would not say rebuilding just retooling somewhat. Juniata was probably the best 1-9 team in the country, they were in most games last season but found ways to lose in the end. They will improve in 2009 but who knows how the team will respond to a new coaching staff.

Yen,

Welcome aboard. I see Juniata pulling off a couple upsets and improving to at least 3-4 wins in a tough league,. I echo BT about them being the best 1-9 team in America last year and I expected them to win
a game or towo more than they did.If they pull hard and come together under the new coach, they could go 4-6.They are not going to be a doormat.Dickinson and Hopkins start with some real offensive firepower
but the parity of this league gets better each year.Once again, welcome to the  finest little academic
oriented football league in the world, bar none. For the size of the schools, its amazing competition on the field
and in the classroom.Carpe Diem.

Ok guys, i kind of broke this down as far as which team is losing the most and who has the most coming back, this information is the best i could find, i could not find out how many sr. F & M was losing.
Here goes.....
Johns Hopkins: jr. 23  sr.  9
McDaniel:          jr. 23  sr.  8
Muhlenberg:     jr. 21   sr. 16
Ursinus:            jr. 18   sr.14
Dickinson:         jr. 16   sr. 19
Juniata:            jr. 16    sr. 9
Moravian:         jr. 14    sr. 16
Gettysburg:     jr.  13    sr. 13
F & M:              jr.  8      sr. na

You can all draw your own conclusions, but the way this draw's out.....looks like another competitive year.

BTEXPRESS

Creek, so if understand the above numbers, the JR # is the number of returning Seniors in 2009 and the Sr# is how many Seniors each team lost from 2008. Is that correct?

greekgeek

Yup, that is correct BT
JR. is whats coming back and SR. is what there losing.

Next weekend will be filled with mixed emotion, happy for them to be graduating, but sad that it will be all over for them and for us too.
