muledaddy, was looking for a game to go see this week and I think I have come up with one.  mules at gettysburg.  what kind of game will this be?  will it be worth the 2+ hour trip?  are you making the trip?  I see the Ryan is making the trip so that would be nice to catch up with him.  Let me know what you all think.  It is nice being a free agent and getting around to see other teams.  how bout tailgating at gettysburg?  wife is even coming along to do some siteseeing in the town so it will be a good trip.

Any interesting story lines going into the weekend?  All i've really seen is pick ems.  Here's a topic.....

Dickinson vs McDaniel, after last years disapointing upset loss, do the Devils have what it takes for a revenge blow out, or does a revamped passing game for the Terror keep it close or perhaps pull out an upset for a second straight season.

The Carroll County Times reports that McDaniels top 2 receiving threats are nursing shoulder injuires-- Something to keap an eye on.

Not a chance that McDaniel pulls out an upset. There is no way that team can stop the prolific offense that Dickinson has. Dickinson is proving that they may be the best team in the league.

Hey any given day anybody can beat anybody, just look what happened last week with Muhlenberg.....beating # 22 ranked Union team. Anything could happen.

ccfan27

I agree anything can happen...but not after what happened last year and where this team is headed. The same core is there for Dickinson and they remember what happened. Do you think Muhlenberg would let Moravian beat them this year if they the same players from 'Berg were back. I don't think so

Terrorizer24

This years' McDaniel squad is more talented and more confident than the team that beat Dickinson last year.  The same core of Dickinson could feel the same dissapointment they felt last season at the hands of the Terror.

GT97

From McDaniel's press release for this weeks contest: "After two weeks of the season, McDaniel was ranked 22nd in all of Division III in rush defense, allowing just 108 yards on the ground combined in its first two games"

"In 2008, the Green Terror defense recorded just nine sacks for the entire season. Through three games in 2009, the unit has already gotten to the quarterback a CC-best nine times. Mike Ford (Drexel Hill, Pa./Haverford Twp.) leads the conference with 4.5 sacks, forcing the opponents back 52 yards on those plays. Ford is tied for ninth in the nation in sacks per game (1.5) and tied for third in tackles for loss (2.83). The team's nine sacks have totaled 72 negative yards - 34 yards more than any other team in the conference. Conversely, the offensive line has allowed just four sacks a year after giving up 34. "

I'd say things will stack up for one heck of a game on Saturday between the Red Devils and the Terror.  It looks like last week Mitchell (who, don't get me wrong, is an outstanding athlete/QB), did some damage on the ground by himself, but only threw the ball 14 times...from the looks of the first 3 games I'd say in all fairness, the Terror D has both of those threats pretty well covered.  I have to agree though that "any given Saturday" you just never know.  I wish the beer wasn't so cold and the flat-screens weren't so large in Baltimore this Saturday or I'd be heading up to Carlisle to see this matchup.

BTEXPRESS

Dickinson's loss to McDaniel last year was a gut wrencher to the Red Devils. The weather factored into that game for sure. Yes, anything could happen, but I think Dickinson stays undefeated at 4-0 after Saturday.

Wesleydad and My Felllow Boardmates,

The weather in MyrtleBeach is righteous (85air/80 ocean), the friendship and golf are beautiful too,
but my heart will be in the CC on Saturday, if not my body.
For what its worth, here we go: 1. Dickinson-unstoppable at this point; 2-F & M-  better each week;
3. Hopkins- this could be interesting if they can contain Mr. Kase; and 4. MULES-it's going to have to be like
the 2007 squeaker  (13-12 on a blocked extra point with 28 secs on the clock), because Mr. Flynn is no
joke.
Wesleydad, I am sorry I can't make this one but I'll come to Dover if we can't catch a CC game
sometime during the season.........Good luck to all, God Bless America, and the kids of D3, of all ages.

If ickinson fumbles the ball 5 times ( few of which were inside their own 10 or 2o) like last year they might feel the same dissapointment. Buuuuuuut I doubt that. McDaniel is a better team this year but I think Dicknson will win big. 34-6

Hey Red Devil and CC FAN, i think GT9 and Terrorizer are making some pretty good points about this game against Dickinson and Mc Daniel. Who knows which way the football will bounce this weekend for all 4 games. ( i'm just saying )

ccfan27

Yes they make good points. But you have to look at who McDaniel has played. GT97 points out how good their defense is but they played St. Vincent who is hardly a football team, Moravian who is averaging all of 8 points a game and Catholic who isn't very good. Dickinson has playmakers all over the field and Mitchell will run wild on them. I am not a Dickinson fan I did not go to Dickinson, but I just think McDaniel's 2-1 record is a little inflated considering the teams they have played. They lost to Moravian 21-16 then the following week Moravian got crushed by Leb Val 42-3. Look at the numbers...Long day for the terror
