After reading everything on this website, Daily Dose, other boards etc. It appears that Dickinson could be on the outside looking in for the playoffs despite the potential of finishing the season 9-1. Hopefully they are wrong and the Red Devils get a plan C bid. Hate to see the season coming to end on Saturday against Ursinus.

They would seem to be a lock for a ECAC bid.

Hopkins is ranked #10 in the South region.  If they win the CC and the AQ, that will bump out one of the top 8 ranked teams.  W&J?  Dickinson?

It doesn't really matter, because the top eight teams aren't guaranteed a spot anyway.

If you read the projection I made, one loss by an at-large team gets Dickinson in my projected field. It's not over for Dickinson.

Quote from: BTEXPRESS on November 12, 2009, 03:35:07 PMWhat bothers me is that W & J would probably get the nod over the Devils because of their past reputation in the NCAA playoffs.

If that were the case, wouldn't W&J be ranked ahead of Dickinson already?

Past reputation is really removed from the equation the past decade or so.

Pat, hope you are right. No matter what the sport, there are always bubble teams who feel they should be in the Big Dance and just miss the cut. I guess that is what has made the playoff selections so interesting over the years. There will always be debates on who deserves to get in.

Have we ever had 2 CC teams make the playoffs in the same year?  It would be nice to see it happen this year.  Red Devils need to win tomorrow or it does not matter.

Just saw and confirmed on the ECAC website that Dickinson DID NOT apply to be considered for an ECAC game. Have no idea why?, they hosted and played Waynesburg two years ago. Maybe it was a cost cutting measure by the Athletic Department, really makes no sense. Still hoping for a little luck after Saturday's games.

A lot of schools (such as Hobart in the LL) opted not to (pay to) play in the ECACs.  I can't speak for Dickinson, but Hobart did it purely due to budget constraints.

As an aside, please consider tuning in to www.inthehuddlle.com this Sunday night at 7:30 PM ET.

Although our radio show is Liberty League focused, CC fans may be interested in hearing my co-host Frank Rossi (possibly Eric Ren if he's over his pneumonia) and I interview the chair of the D3 selection committee, Director Solomen regarding the 32 teams picked (and those that weren't) for the NCAA tournament.

Heard on the radio driving up to the McDaniels game, that today's game will be the school's 1,000th college football game.  Quite a milestone. They mentioned that a few other Centennial schools have also accomplished this task. I believe they said Dickinson and Gettysburg.

Congrats to Johns Hopkins on winning the Centennial Conference and good luck in the NCAA playoffs, and congrats to The Mules for finishing there season with a win over Moravian 7-0.

Great season Red Devils. You never folded today and you should be proud of that. Congrats to Hopkins on winning CC. Dickinson loses some extremely talented seniors from this group. It was a pleasure to watch you all play for 4 years. Good luck to you guys.

Kudos to Johns Hopkins for winning the CC conference.  Since Mount Union is more than 500 miles away you can breathe a sigh of relief.  Uh Oh.  Delaware Valley is a formidable first round opponent and I guess that is who you'll be pitted against.  Best of luck!

Great job Mule defense in shutting out those stubborn Greyhounds!  Godspeed to the seniors all around the CC.
