hats off to the jays on not giving up and winning the game.  good luck against the wolverines next week.  very impressive outing for the CC champs.

great effort by tmu to fight back after being down 18 pts in the first half.

Great job Blue Jays!  Going to need to bring their "A" game on defense and put up some points to pull the shocker in Dover next week.

Congratulations to all the Hopkins players and fans for another great win today. Now I don't feel quite so bad about last week's result. Keep up the good work next week in Dover.

I guess, now the announcers will have to stop referring to Tyler Porco as "the running quarterback." Congrats on the great game, to both squads.

Congrats to Johns Hopkins for making it to the Region Finals.  Just stopping in to get the info on the Blue Jays.  I have read that they play a pretty good defense, holding hampden-Sydney to only 7 would suggest that.  What do they have on offense?  Heard they also have pretty good size.  Any info would be appreciated so I know what to look for this Saturday.  I also expect that there should be a good number of Jays fans at the game this Saturday, does Johns Hopkins fan base travel well?  Enjoy the week, Region Finals is a nice step for the CC.  I am sure that you would like to get some revenge for the conference being sent out by Wesley the last 2 years.

He is the running QB --- as we were told by some of the folks at Johns Hopkins.  The threat of run from that formation made it a great play call and helped Johns Hopkins jump out to a lead, which turned out to be too much for Thomas More to overcome.

wesleydad,

i was on the call yesterday in Crestview Hills... here are my impressions of Johns Hopkins

*Very well coached... and the team has poise when momentum went to Thomas More.  They responded everytime TMC scored in the 2nd half.
*Very physical team and have a big running back who is nimble also --- he was very tough to bring down yesterday.
*offensively they run a few different formations, have the wildcat installed for Tyler Porco --did try one pass out of yesterday, which caught the Saints off guard and went for a 63 yard TD to open the scoring yesterday.
*Very good tackling team
*The one weaker spot that I saw was their QB, who at times was off target (3 int's) and inaccurate on about 6 more that his receivers went to catch.  Has WR's who can make plays on the ball.
*Not intimidated as a team or a staff --- these guys are playing like they have nothing to lose.  Went with a deep corner route on a 4th and 4 late in the 3rd quarter to set up Andrew Case's 1 yard TD run.

I was more than impressed with JHU yesterday.  I just finished an interview with Pat Coleman for this week's ATN Podcast (will be on the daily dose tomorrow) and talked about what I saw from Hopkins yesterday.

Congrats are in order... everytime TMC scored late in the 3rd or 4th quarter, JHU answered.  They have a very good team and its fans should be proud of what they have accomplished this post season.  It was hard for me to watch the FG go through the uprights yesterday after time had expired (I played QB for TMC in the 90s), but Thomas More was outplayed yesterday and Johns Hopkins will represent the Centennial well this week in Delaware, IMO.

Good luck this week and a special thanks to Hopkins SID Ernie Larossa for his help during the broadcast yesterday.

Congratulations to the Blue Jays. I listened to this entire game live and it had to have been one of the best games in college football history.  While this will be a tall task on Saturday @ Wesley, Nothing is impossible.  Go Jays.

Pat Coleman and I were talking about Heartstoppers and Hailmarys:  The 100 Greatest College Football Finishes before the game..  This game would belong in there.
