A tip of the hat to Hopkins and a heck of a season.

Congrads to Johns Hopkins for a great season!  You played really tough today, and should be proud of your performance!

Good job Johns Hopkins.

Put that in your memory bank.

That's how it's done.

Nice job to the Blue Jays and thier fans.  Great showing in the crap weather.  It is a shame because neither team got to show what they can do.  I was impressed by the play of the D line, they controlled wesley's offense most of the game.  I am not sure why the coaches chose to fake the punt at that point in the game when neither team looked like they were going to mount much of a drive in the weather, field position battle was going back and forth.  I also dont know what wesley was doing on the first punt, couldnt tell if it was a fake or not, but the player got hit in the chest with the ball before he even reacted.  Good luck next season and if you guys tailgate that well on the road in that weather, then I will have to add Hopkins to my list of visits for next season.

I had a feeling the Wesley/JHU game would be closer than most were thinking.. I just didn't think JHU would get shut out.  Great season for the Blue Jays.  Nice run in the playoffs.  You'll always have the memory of beating TMC in Kentucky (unfortunately  >:( )

Results from the weekend's pickems. Before the playoffs started we had discusions on whether the CC was being overlooked on the National scale. My opinion was that if the conference had a team that could win two rounds of the playoffs that would be quite an accomplishment. Congratulations to Johns Hopkins, they not only advanced to the final eight, but put up a pretty good fight against Wesley and I truly believe opened some eyes around the country. Do you think it ever gets old for Mount Union going out and just crushing decent teams every year?

Old Ends       4-0

Based on what I read over on the OAC board, I would have to say no. As a matter of fact, their fans seem to get concerned if they don't put up at least a perfectly executed monkeystomp in every game. A pretty common post after beating Albright 55-3 was that Mt. Union needs to play better against Wesley or Whitewater if they expect to win.

Tiger, I believe you are right. For 99% of the teams just making the NCAA playoffs every few years is quite a thrill. I know Mt Union gets great surport from their fans and town, but I can't see how slaughtering your opponent on a weekly basis can be fun. As a matter of fact, it seems like they turn it up a notch when the playoffs begin. It just goes to show you that MUC and a handfull of other programs are way ahead of most D3 programs. I remember when they lost assistant coach Don Montomery to Emery & Henry, everyone thought he would be able to wave his Raider magic and transform E & H into a MUC clone. Although he has improved the program at E & H, it's not even on par with HSC at this point. It just doesn't make the D3 football playoffs much fun to watch anymore. I guess there is always a thrill to see if they lose. But the last time I checked Mt Union has lost only FOUR games since 2000.

It makes you wish that there was a divisional system like that of the British Football clubs.  If you are the top two teams at the end of the season, you move up to the next division.  If you are the bottom two, you are delagated to the next lower division.
