My picks for the week

JHU over Randolph Macon
Hobart over Dickinson
Susquehanna over Juniata
Moravian over McDaniel
F&M over Ursinus

I have been high on F&M coming into this year and this week is important in the race for CC crown. Obviously Hopkins is going to be a factor in this race but this is a crucial game so early in the season. I have thought F&M would be a contender at some point since Harrison started playing as a Freshman - that kid is the real deal. Troxell isn't too shabby as a Head Coach either...

NOTE:    Pat Coleman's D3 has put the light on the greatest number of student athletes in America

for the greatest time, with the greatest dedication; the new NCAA recognition of this group of athletes is

nice, but will never replace the informed, dedicated staff led by Pat and the quality of their coverage of D3 footbal;McMillan,  Coleman ,Tipps, and all others of this incredible organization, I tip my  hat in appreciation and recognition of your efforts on behalf of all fans, players, parents and followers of the D3 nation....thanks

I posed a question to the ODAC board and was told that question had a better chance of getting answered here...whats the scoop on this Hopkins team...who are the studs I need to be on the lookout for tomorrow?  I am looking forward to a great game at Day field.

Wow.  If #20 W&J got licked worse than Muhlenberg by DelVal then is there hope for the Mules this year?

Interesting upset by Cal Lutheran over Linfield our here on the left coast.  This should have some playoff implications.

Picks Summary - Everyone came in this week at 2-3. The only difference in picks was that 69mule picked Ursinus correctly over F&M but incorrectly picked Dickinson over Hobart.

Through 2 weeks
CCfan27 - 6-5 - .545 win pct.
Muledaddy - 6-5 - .545 win pct.
Bubdad - 6-5 - .545 win pct.
69mule - 5-6 - .454 win pct.
Old ends - 2-3 - .400 win pct.

It's a shame to see Hopkins lose but it looks as if they played Randolph Macon very tough and RMC is traditionally a very good football team. I don't see this as a sign of a down year at all for Hopkins and they could possibly run the table in the CC and find themselves back in the playoffs. Big win for Ursinus over F&M gives them a nice edge in the CC race. Tough loss for my Hounds who just can't seem to get an offense going. Defense once again played very well just aren't getting enough support to get W's. Susquehanna bounces back to trounce Juniata as expected. I think some people up in Carlisle might expect a down year for Dickinson after losing all everything in Mitchell, not sure if the loss to Hobart is indication that Dickinson is down or if Hobart is a really good team. Any other insights on these games would be great.

Having listened to the Bart/Dickinson game I think it is probably a little of both.  Dickinson's new QB really struggled early on, both from being pressured by the Hobart defense, but he also over/under threw several passes making Dickinson a pretty one dimensional team - on offense at least.

This really helped Hobart win the field position battle; e.g., Hobart's longest offensive possession was a drive they started on their own 48 yard line (and that possession was helped by a fake punt).  This put the Devil defense having a short field and when the special teams came up with a couple of huge plays (fake punt on 4th down, punt block for TD, 90 yd kickoff return for TD...) that broke the game wide open.

"Susquehanna bounces back to trounce Juniata as expected."

Don't know if it was expected based on week one, but it certainly was a mismatch on Saturday.
