CCfan27,

Sorry, brain-fart on my part. I meant Moravian over the Mules and that Moravian is possibly the best team at the moment. Moravian is a different team since they put in the new QB. Your observations about McDaniel are all correct. I picked Hopkins over McDaniel already. I should proof read before I post.

I should have seen the Hopkins pick later in the picks and realized this was just a mistake as well. Haha but yes I'd agree Moravian is playing at a very high level right now. You can't point to anything other than the change at QB as to why this team started clicking. Defense has been solid the whole year for the most part and just needed the ability to score points and off they went. Interesting mix of Seniors and underclassmen this year at various positions, so I will be curious to see how they replace seniors next year, particularly at the WR position where Sylvainus and Hersch have been playing since they were Freshmen. I am looking forward to the game in Bethlehem on Saturday and maybe the Hounds can send the Mules limping into the playoffs like the last time they came to Bethlehem with the playoff berth secured. Remember it like it was yesterday...

Attended the F&M game against John Hopkins.  F&M struggled on pass defense especially 3rd and anything.  Hopkins' quarterback timing passes caught F&M flat-footed.  One of the most unusual catches occurred in the third quarter and seem to deflate  F&M.  F&M linebacker was covering Hopkins' receiver chest to chest and never saw the pass.  The receiver caught the ball and the defender and ran together for about 10 yards before the receiver was able to possess the ball in one hand and bring it around the defender.  The defender had no idea the ball was caught.  It was certainly one of the top completions of the year.

mules,bears,bullets,jays,w&l....and so it goes....a superhuman effort will be required by the MULES.....

2 years of payback, especially for the '08 team's OT loss at Houndtown, the only scar on what would have been

back to back undefeated seasons.........this  year's team can make their name as  the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK....go Mules go!!!!!!!!!!!! Take it all !!!!

I can't believe Washington & Lee is ranked 6th and already has an automatic bid to the playoffs.  I saw F&M play them and the Diplomats beat them like a bad kid at Sunday school.
W&L must have gotten a lot better...anyway congrats to them.

wesleydad

mulefans, at least your first round trip is shorter than originally projected, flight to umhb.  a familiar foe again.  safe travels and we will see you on saturday.

69Mule- 39-16 .709 win pct
Oldends- 21-10 .677 win pct

Wearinthered - 20-9 .690 win pct
ReservedSeat- 28-10 .737 win pct

Did not submit picks this week
Bubdad- 19-16 .543 win pct

I think the regular season pick 'ems championship should go to Muledaddy...while GoHop has the highest win pct, when i look back over games that muledaddy and GoHop both picked, Muledaddy has a higher win pct in those games. In commonly picked games Muledaddy picked 30 out of 38 games correct and GoHop picked 28 out of 38 games correct.

Either way it has been fun to pick the games all year and see what everyone thinks going into the games each week.

As for this past weekends games...What a game in Bethlehem, as the Hounds used a blocked extra point with about a minute left to beat the Mules. I was really surprised by this, because in my time playing in the CC, Muhlenberg was always one of the more sound teams on special teams and for them to have a game tying XPT blocked and a FG blocked earlier is somewhat unbelievable. It's amazing how Moravian turned around their season and they have been rewarded for that turnaround by received an ECAC birth at Wilkes on Saturday. Good Luck to the Mules at Wesley on Saturday, you certainly have a tall order but congratulations on the AQ and represent the CC to the best of your ability. Any other insight from other games would be appreciated. Only other game that stuck out to me really was Gettysburg beating F&M pretty handily...

Good luck Mules....

and best of luck to Hopkins, Moravian and F&M.  These games matter when it comes to ranking the conferences.  (Hear that NESCAC?  :) )
