Reality check time...

Dickinson hasn't had a legitimate offense for the past, oh, six years or so.  They rely on their defense to come up with big stops and turnovers hoping to get decent field position.

Nice to see someone from Gburg posting.  But let's not lose sight of the fact that Gettysburg has also lost to Denison and Rochester - not exactly bastions of all that is D3football.  I'm heartened to see Gburg putting some points on the board, but that spread offense I heard they were running...isn't exactly what beat McDaniel this week.

We'll see, that's all I have to say, we'll see. I really hope bullet doesn't go back into the closet by the end of the season, with all of this talk I really want to see what he has to say if the bullets don't live up to his boasting.

On a side note I think it's even funnier that he only decides to get a name so he can post, after the win against McDaniel.

Its nice to have any support from a GC fan on here.  Hey, they won the game so their fans are happy and joining post patterns.  The game was close, but GC did the little things right like a kickoff return for a TD.

As for McDaniel, Pat's comment that they may lose all of their remaining games was an overstatement.  McDaniel has a decent team and will prove it as they recover from the loss.

In regards to Pat Coleman's comments...one thing you can't deny is this.  With the exception of the Seton Hill game, McDaniel barely beat Catholic, Ursinus, and Bridgewater...two teams they would have crushed had everyone been healthy (in my opinion).

The injury bug could drastically alter the McDaniel season.

Looking at Around the Region this week I didnt realize the QB stats for the were shaping up like that.  Looks like a down year in the CC for QB's compared to previous where atleast 1 or 2 were ahead of the pack.

badbadman

CC offenses continue to struggle in 2005.  QB play will have to improve if the conference is to win a playoff game this year.

True, injuries have hit McDaniel hard this year and are affecting their play.  Even with those injuries, I think coach Keating will get them back on track as the season progresses.  I am pretty sure they will win more games this season.

Actually, TerrorFan, I've been posting here for a few years, but couldn't regain my "name" (GCalum) after the format changed and then had an email glitch re-registering.  I was spurred into posting after last Saturday's game because of the whining by the Terror folks, not because of the win by GC.  I'll continue to post even if the Bullets tank.  One big win does not make a season or mean they are a great team.  They have shown, though, that they have the capacity to make things interesting -- for better or worse, we might learn a lot in that regard in Baltimore on Friday night.

I will admit, i'll be routing for the bullets this week, take JHU down a notch...

Why would you root for the Bullets as a McDaniel fan???  I would think you'd want a team that's already beaten you in conference to lose.

If JHU and McDaniel win out, the winner of the season finale gets the automatic bid.

Edit:  That's not the case if Gettysburg loses to JHU and wins the rest of their conference games because then we'd have a 3 way tie, but I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself.

TerrorFan

a.) I'd hope the Terror have the best record in the Centennial by the time it's all done, and not even have to go to the tie breaker.
b.) The way the Terror are playing I wouldn't be supprised to see another loss, maybe even this week to Dickinson.
c.) Though G-Burg beat McDaniel, I don't have very much faith that they'll win an astounding amount of games the rest of the season.

F&M vs. Union - Of those of you who have seen these teams play or saw the F&M vs. Muhlenberg game and the Union vs. Muhlenberg game any thoughts?  Can F&M hang with the U?

Terror,

To be the best you have to beat the best.  If I were you, I'd hope that McDaniel goes 9-1 and gets an unbeaten JHU in the season finale.

As a JHU fan, I hope you come into that game 8-1 so that the rivalry game determines the CC champion and NCAA rep.  I believe that the head to head match up will decide the NCAA bid if both teams win out.

TerrorFan

As great as that would be, McDaniel has a bunch of question's that still need answers. 8-1 vs. 9-0 sounds great, and its at McDaniel, but Dickinson, F & M, a pissed off Muhlenburg team (refer to last year's game) have yet to be played, and if the Terror can't even pull out a win against Gettysburg, how do they expect to run the table on the other teams. Before I even start on the prospect of a McD, JHU showdown, lets see how they fair against Dickinson first.

badbadman

True, there are alot of hurdles.  Same thing for JHU facing a GC team that has a decent offense and looks like they may have patched up the defense.

CUsefan:

Being an F&M fan i think that we will hang with Union.  The Dips "D" has been playing truly good ball the past couple of weeks.  Granted they havent played a running back like the one Union has but they have improved their tackling and seem to be in the right spots at the right time.

One of the strengths going into the season was supposed to be the Offense, which has turned out not to be the case.  In recent weeks the O has shown glimpes that one of these weeks they will finally put it all together and i think this will be the week.

Not guessing the score just yet but i think it will be great game and we will finally see the real F&M team come out and play this year.  the one we were all expecting at the begining of the season.
