Congrats to F&M.  Finished the season strong.  Lots of expectations going into the year.

Good luck to Hopkins, respresent the CC well.

Congratulations to Johns Hopkins for winning the 2005 Centennial Conference title outright.  This was the first year since 2000 that the CC had an outright champion.

Dress warmly Hopkins fans.  Early Saturday weather forecast for Greenville is a high of 41 degrees with snow showers.

Any ideas about POY and All Centennial?

Here are my picks:

Offensive POTY: Tom Sturges (GC/RB)
Defensive POTY: Ron Ringgold (MC/LB) or Adam Luke (JHU/LB)

I also think Ben Scott (JHU/K) and Nathan Smith (GC/KR) should get AA consideration.

ALL-CC is out.  Triplin from JHU and McCall from Muhlenberg were offensive and defensive POYs respectively.  The teams can be found here:

Very surprised at the POTY for the offense, i to thought it would be Sturges.  Cant argue against McCall.

F&M receives ECAC bid.  Will be playing Salisbury this weekend in MD.

omg ... a junior wideout who recorded 75.7 receiving yards a game and scored three total touchdowns on the year wins offensive poty?  wow.

Dan McCall (53 tackles, 16 TFL, 8 sacks, 4 FR, 2 FF, 2 INTs), Ringgold (136 tackles, 15 TFL, 4 sacks, 3 INTs, 1 FF) and Adam Luke (89 tackles, 8 TFL, 3 sacks, 1 FR) all were studs at linebacker.  Glad they all made 1st team.

Yeah, there weren't too many options on the offensive side of the ball.  Looking at the conference stats, it probabaly came down to Triplin, Lyons, Sturges, Torchia and Gallagher.  Triplin and Lyons were the only unanimous 1st team selections on offense.

Defensively, McCall wasn't even a unanimous 1st team selection, but still got named defensive player of the year.  He's a great player, but I think some of the guys you mentioned had better years.  Strange.

Have to agree with Pat Coleman about the "Diplomats on Brink of Dream Season" article being off base.  With the high expectations and a D3football.com forecast of a 10-0 season, the 5-5 record had to be hard to take.  The Dips got a tough ECAC matchup with Salisbury that gives them a chance for some redemption.

GO DIPS!
