Hopefully some are running backs.

Wow, Maybank not coming back, that's huge.  Last year, 4-0 with him, 1-5 without him.  Parker and Taylor were nice second and third options, too.  They also lost (to graduation) four starting linemen.  I did hear that Brad Baer is close to 100%, so he sure will have a load to carry.

Tough break for McDaniel in losing Maybank to track. Anyone know what happened with Parker?

This is a really stupid question but did the CC pick up a couple of new schools for the conference.  I thought I read it somewhere but can't seem to find it.  I thought it was a couple of MAc schools.  Maybe I am wrong.

Pat Coleman

Yes, starting in 2007, Moravian and Juniata.

Thanks, Pat.

I knew I read it somewhere but couldn't see anything on the Centennial website.  It says they have a coupld of associate members.  I am going to guess those are for non-football sports

Amish Allstar

Steel Hop:

That is correct.  For mens/womens sports there is Washington College & Haverford along with an all womens school in Bryn Mawr.

Only 2 weeks till camp!!!

Pat Coleman

Washington College and Haverford are not associate members of the Centennial. They are full members who do not sponsor football.

Washington & Lee is an associate member in wrestling. There may be others, but that came to mind immediately.

my prediction is that dickinson is poised for a big season. they have they're entire defense returning, with thier all conference middle linebacker returning from injury. If they are able to put their offense and defense together this year, they are going to surprise alot of teams

Preseason prediction:  The conference will be very competitive this year and many of the games will be decided by less than a touchdown.

1. Johns Hopkins - best DL in conference, 4 straight championships
2. McDaniel - best QB in the conference, good defense, must find RB
3. Dickinson - always competitive, will win close ones
4. Gettysburg - great RB, improved offense, decent defense
5. Ursinus - loss of QB will hurt them
6. Muhlenburg - always tough on defense, not much on offense
7. F&M - late coaching change will hurt - similar to GB in 2004

Johns Hopkins, who has compiled a 36-8 record over the last four seasons on its way to four consecutive Centennial Conference titles, is the unanimous choice to win "One for the Thumb" as the CC's annual poll of head coaches and sports information directors was released Tuesday. The Blue Jays received all 12 first-place ballots (voters not permitted to vote for their own team) for 72 points to easily outdistance McDaniel (51). Muhlenberg (44) edged Franklin & Marshall (40) for the No. 3 spot, while Dickinson (34), Gettysburg (29) and Ursinus (24) round out the poll.

Johns Hopkins (12) ........... 72
McDaniel .......................... 51
Muhlenberg ...................... 44
Franklin & Marshall (1) ...... 40
Dickinson (1) .................... 34
Gettysburg ....................... 29
Ursinus ............................ 24
