i kno im new here but ive been keepin an eye on the CC for the past 2 years and i was wonderin if anyone has ever heard of senior WRs C. Turner and Matt Gingrich for McDaniel. as ive looked at McDaniel's stats, otha than Baer, they seem to be the only offensive production. where did they come from and why weren't they part of the offense the last three years ??? even more so, why aren't they part of the offense more now?

Classic pattern post of someone who has inside knowledge or emotional ties to the situation.

ive read all these posts about how great of a coach tim keating is, but maybe he's not as great as everyone assumes. mcdaniel is on a slump and has been for quite some time now. whats the deal? use the players you got. he's a passing coach, but doesn't go down field. any ideas?

Yes, as patcummings stated, you're probably a current McDaniel player or parent.  A little obvious.

nah not current but previous. i used to play at mcdaniel but i transferred to towson. i have friends at mcdaniel and i kno the system. it's just interestin to me that people say that keating is a great recruitin coach, in which case he is, but in my opinion, he needs to open his mind to new things. they do have OL problems, but there's no reason they don't use the weapons they have. that could be one of many problems goin on with the problem...

Hey Guys in the CC,

This is Saxon 73 a grad of Alfred University, from the Empire 8 Conf in the East Region,

I am an Alfred University grad 1973 and am considering retirement in South Central PA.  Have lived in State College in my younger days.

Looking around I like your geographic area and see quality colleges in your area.  Love DIV 3 football.

Can you give me a quick update on the rivalries and strong points of your various schools?

The best rivalries in the Centennial Conference are:
1. Dickinson vs. Franklin & Marshall (Conestoga Wagon Trophy game)
2. Johns Hopkins vs. McDaniel (usually has championship implications)
3. Muhlenberg vs. Johns Hopkins (has become a great rivalry)
4. Gettysburg vs. Dickinson (Little Brown Bucket game)
5. coming in 2007 ... Muhlenberg vs. Moravian (Lehigh Valley backyard brawl)

Coming to SCPA?  I went to Dickinson and spent four wonderful years in Carlisle.  The town is quaint, lots of activites at the college - far enough from the craziness, but close enough if you wanted to go somewhere (Philly, Baltimore, NYC, DC).  Harrisburg is just 30 mins away and has a functional airport with service to all the major hubs.  Very solid town...

Geez, you Dickinson homer you :D (RE: ATR).  Kidding, of course - excellent ATR (again).

I think the Clark quote regarding Highfill was misinterpreted, though.  Pretty much any team (any level) relies on their QB to take them as far as they can go.  Most important position on the field.

Congrats to McDaniel on their come from behind victory today!!

terror5005

Yeah, it was definitely a good win for McDaniel today. It's a type of game that a young team can look back on as they gear up for the final stretch run of conference games. All three of their wins this year have been ones where they can build on, and never count themselves out. I'm sure the defense was absolutely flying around as they held RMC to -2 total yards after half time. Definitely an improvement on last year's embarassment at RMC.

Any score updates? (cue the echo)

McDaniel lost to F&M....something like 31-7

terror5005

That Dip passing attack has just given them absolute fits recently...

Congrats to Dickinson, passing another big test to their legitamacy.
Ursinus also picking up a big win over Hopkins (but then again I'm happy anytime they lose)
Anyone go to the batle of the 'b(e/u)rgs? What happened to Gettysburg? Beat a good Ursinus team one week and then get absolutely trashed against Muhlenberg...

Parity once again reigning supreme in the Centenniel...well from 2nd place down.

terror5005

Anybody have ANYTHING to say about the last week or so?

Well, personally I think big props need to go out to Ursinus for their convincing win this week. Hopkins looks like they had a nice solid win over Hamden-Sydney, and McDaniel continuing dominance over the Mules.  Congrats to Dickinson as well, first outright conference championship in quite a few years.

Gonna be some battles in Week 11, to see who is going to finish 2nd-7th. Plus a good chance to see some kids who haven't played a lot of the year. Hopefully Ursinus can make a big enough impact against Dickinson to earn an ECAC bid for the conference. Real shame they lost those two games earlier in the year, could have been an interesting last game for the outright championship.

Week 6 and 7 aren't early in the season.

Parity in a BAD CONFERENCE!  Dickinson - playoff week #1 and BYE BYE!  Centennial Conference needs to go back into the MAC - still the old EGGHEAD EIGHT (oops Swarthless gone - egghead seven). Sorry!
