playing days are WELL behind me. but I still enjoy watching games so even though I do not plan on travelling with any one team I am always interested in a college or hs game and from what I am told there are plenty in the Lehigh Valley.

BTEXPRESS

After years of taking my son to watch various Centennial Conference teams play as a fan, he is now heading into his Senior year of High School and is being recruited by several schools in the conference. Now when we go to watch, we will both looking at the games and outcomes with a different set of eyes. It is funny, but the schools he rooted for as a fan are not the same ones he is now interested in as a potential student.

BTEXPRESS

He plays defensive back. Unfortunately Juniata is not at the top of his list(HA HA)

Well we kind of went through that this summer. That is how we spent our vacation. I think I enjoyed it more than he did. After seeing our final school last week, he said on the way home "NOW IT IS TIME TO START PLAYING SOME FOOTBALL" They put the pads on this upcoming Monday. The best of luck to you and your son this season as well.

Did you ever find anything out about the D-II quaterback?

According to Moravian website the qb transfer is Josh Hinkle who played 2yrs at Edinboro Univ of PA. I looked on Edinboro website and found that he was PA all state in 2004 & McDonalds All Star, set 7 school records at Allentown Central Catholic and was part of high school 4X100 relay team that won gold. The Edinboro coach (Lou Tepper who coached at Illinois, spoke very highly of him). According to a workmate he left Edinboro after the coach took another job and the new staff wanted to move him to defense. Supposedly he is quite an athlete. Time will tell.

according to another player at moravian the new head coach was more run oriented and felt with his strength and speed he would be able to help the team as a d-back where they were thin. he supposedly is very strong and quick. they say he left on good terms with the coaching staff although they would not release him to any D-II schools in the country. That tells me something about his ability

As a D3 football alumni it is always nice to see some recognition.  This is a story on ESPN.com.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=2966521.  Mentions Hopkins programs.

Now that I remember I'm going to watch Morivian play Susquahanna on August 30th I'll bring back a report,
That's great. I will wait to see your assement of the Moravian team. It will be good to get a non bias opinion, as my co-workers son will be a freshman on the team and I am sure that she will be slighted toward Moravian

BTEXPRESS

Boy, this board is dead! I believe all the teams are in camp right now with two a days! Any information out there? The season starts in TWO WEEKS!

BITMAT.24CB

I agree this board is not very lively. All I know is that Moravian has an upcoming scrimmage with a team in NJ. I will find out how they fare with my colleague, she is going to the scrimmage which I believe is Thursday. Any one else have info on any of the other teams in this conference. I am sure that they have scrimmages scheduled.

Pat Coleman

Well, all I ask is that you don't give up on us. Hopefully you guys can start (or restart) the trend on this board.

I Like JHU to win it all this year---I am going out on a limb to say Moravian will struggle and Hopkins wins it all.

BITMAT.24CB

what is the basis of your assement? do you have any insight into either team, ie. returning players, injuries? what about Ursinus the coaches poll picks them to finish #1

Bulldog10

I am just not a huge believer in D-2 transfers, there is always a reason behind a transfer, and they do not come to Division 3 and dominate.  Hopkins has a few guys who I like coming back including their starting QB and WR.
