Hello All, First time poster to this board, however I have followed both this board and MAC conference board for what seems like years.  I am an alum of the newest member to the Centennial Conference.

My first post goes to Spilk and Murphy, both also JC alums, I am surprised neither of your mentioned the significance of last Saturday's game against Gettysburg.  That was the first matchup between former JC head coach and now G-Burg O-Coordinator Kevin Burke and his old employer since their less than graceful split a few years back.  I have to say I am glad to see Coach Burke is doing well at G-Burg and chalk up round one to his offense and Bullets who put one on JC in a big way with over 300 yards on the ground.  I would have to think somewhere in his office he had that date circled for sometime.

I knew about it but after the fervent response sent by letsgobucs I just avoided the subject entirely.  Nobody is real vocal on this board anyway, unless their picks get messed up.  :P

I am not real surprised that Gettysburg has a good offense this year, Juniata's was usually one of the better offense in the MAC while he was there.  As for Murphy, I don't know that he was around when Burke was there because I am pretty sure he's a parent, not an alum.

I am hoping the Moravian-Juniata game is as exciting as they used to be when they went to OT for like 5 straight years and were decided by no more than 7 points for something like 8 years.

I understand what you are talking about Splik, I do not see are great deal of banter on this board toward or against one institution or another.

Unfortunately I have not been able to take in any Centennial Conference games this year because I am about 500 miles from the nearest school so I keep with the teams thanks to some great work by all of the schools in the league offering web audio of the games, its not the best be until they develop ESPN 8 "the OCHO" to start covering D-III regular season football it is what I have to work with.

As for the JC-Moravian game I would wish for one of those great OT games, I played in two of the more bizarre games in the series, the one game where JC scored 35 unanswered points in 19 minutes to win and then the goal post game where the Hounds receiver ran straight into the goal posts attempting to make a catch.  I do not think a game like either of those is in the cards this weekend.

I agree that this board is very low keyed compared to the Centennial board for basketball. I don't think there are many current students who post on here. As a matter of fact there are probably less than a dozen fans who are posting on here at all during football season and certainly not every conference school is represented. Check out some of the other DIII conference message boards and see how passoniate their fans are!!!

the goal post game was on ESPN or at least the part where the wr ran into the post.

So does the CC have any offense this year? Previous years you guys have boasted great D's but had lackluster O's that have hurt the CC winners in the NCAAs....

Does any of your offenses have what it takes to keep up with other teams come time for the NCAA's....

morGhounds

right now i think moravian and gettysburg  both have pretty explosive offenses....both teams i beleive are averaging near 30 points a game which is pretty impressive ( it's no 60 point avg. like mount union though)

I agree Gettysburg and Moravian seem to have offenses which can put up big points.  Most of the other CC teams have had flashes of briliance but can't seem to find the consistency on the offensive side of the ball.  I dont know if this is attributed to the lack of talent on the offensive sides of the ball or due to the fact the better athletes are found on defense throughout the the CC.  I think for the most part CC offenses are heavy run, which unless your offensive line is going to dominate and overpower the defense, is not conducive to putting up ridiculous point totals the likes of other conferences.  I also think the CC competition is very even.  There really are no cake teams in this conference.  From year to year, the basement team could very well turn it around and fight for the conference title the following year.

For years McDaniel dominated the conference with a huge line  and great skilled positions. Now I think the other teams have caught up. In the 90's when it was Dickinson's turn to dominate, they did it with the run. Now to their coaches credit, they have gone to a spread type offense. When Hopkins had their run at the top, it was a little of running and passing I agree with the above that Gettysburg and Moravian seem to put up the big numbers this year. I have not seen Mulenberg play this year, so I can't comment on their offense, but they must be doing something right. It should be very interesting to see what happens on Saturday in Gettsburg with the Bullets and Devils.

agreed that the conference is of very even talent....i think every saturday comes down to who show's up to play, simple as that
