I think the best offensive player in the conference is no doubt Ian Mitchell from Dickinson, but Tom Sturges of Gettysburg is most likely going to win Offensive Player of the Year.

As far as defense goes Eric Dube of Dickinson should win the award but I don't think you can go wrong with giving it to someone on Muhlenberg considering what they did on defense.

Just throwing this out there... What happened to Matt Flynn (Gettysburg QB), after an impressive freshmen year he has been absolutly terrible pretty much costing Gettysburg the conference title with his performances against Muhlenberg and Dickinson.

Typical of Gettysburg quarterbacks I guess gets worse as they get older, look at Joe Gossweiler.

McDaniel has certainly gone from the pent house to the out house in the Centennial!  They are a JOKE.  When will the AD grow a set and fire Keating.  He is the reason they are terrible.  Bad recruiting, bad assistant coaches, bad play calling, bad off season training, leads to a 1-9 season with the only win over a high school (JV team) in Juniata.

Murphy

Hey there terror man tread lightly on Juniata.  Calling them a JV team is something I take umbridge to, those kids do not deserve that kind of crap from you.

They play hard every game and if if they caught a break or two McDaniel would be 0-9 and not 1-8.

Criticize your own team and leave Juniata alone.

I saw the game, and McDaniel is TERRIBLE, which makes Juniata WORSE.  There are high school teams in Maryland that would beat McDaniel, and CRUSH Juniata.  I am speaking the facts, when will they fire Keating, and bring some talent back to the Centennial?

I agree with GoUC9, the outcomes of this weeks game dont matter the only team making the DIII playoffs from the CC is Muhlenberg.  The Centenial Conference is definately viewed as a weak conference around the country and has received littel press.  I think the immergence of UC, Muhlenberg and Dickinson with solid squads over the past few years has brought back some credibility to the conference.  Each team has proved themselves outside of the conference as well as making in conference games much more interesting.  I attended this past weeks game between UC and MC, I was impressed by the MU offense and defense.  They are a solid team and hopefully they can bring some respect for the conference from the rest of DIII.

Well Jim Dog.

I would appreciate it if you would refrain from dragging my eagles in the mud.

I have as many issues with the administration of my team but that doesn't give me the right to drag someone else's team through the mud.

Moravian @ Muhlenberg
Juniata @ Gallaudet
Gettysburg @ Franklin & Marshall
McDaniel @ John Hopkins
Ursinus @ Dickinson

It was a very exciting season and I look forward to following all teams from this conference competing in post season games.

Finally getting some fire on this message board?

Murphy

Wher have you been #1, I've been under fire since late September.

Duck and cover!   ;D

Im aware but you have been fending off the attacks fairly well.  Plus your team didnt have one of its best years and everyone enjoys kicking people when they are down.  Im not justifying the beating you and your Eagles have been taking but its apparent some moves need to be made for you guys to compete in this conference.

Murphy

Be careful there #1 you'll have the Juniata Eagles fans breathing down your neck for making statements like "its apparent some moves need to be made for you guys to compete in this conference".

It will be interesting to see if any moves are made at the end of the season.  The JC sport administration has to decide what their goals for the football team are going forward.

Is fielding a competitive team a goal?  I don't rememeber who it was but during the summer somone made a point that there are so many D-III football teams in PA that he didn't think that there was enough college level talent available to go around.

Certainly schools that are in realitively rural areas that don't have a very exciting night life to attract urban kids to the area are at a competitive disadvantage.  I've been to Huntingdon they roll up the sidewalks at 9 P.M.

There now I'm in trouble again.

Hope this was not directed at me.  I actually agree with you on this note, I felt you were wrong for criticizing players.

From my understandiing, Juniata switched to the Centennial to play teams who were closer to them academically and therefore the Eagles would be on a more even playing field than with the teams in the MAC.  As someone who played at Juniata and lived in Huntingdon, there is not a whole lot going on - they did not even have a Wal-Mart while I was there.  Would you really want to pay that much money, I think tuition has gone up $15,000 in the 4 years since I've been there, and live in a place as 'exciting' as Huntingdon?

But hey, the women's volleyball team is good....

BTEXPRESS

Although I have never been there, I am told there is not much going on in ALLIANCE, OHIO the home of the MOUNT UNION COLLEGE "Raiders" as well!. How it compares to Huntington, Pa. I just don't know.

Sorry Splik, before you get on me, I had a slip in the old typing skills, HUNTINGDON

No that comment wasn't sent in your direction, it was directed at fbfan814 more than anyone.

Also it was meant to be a light hearted attempt at humor kind of spoofing myself for all the criticism I've garnered since September.  I agree that any criticism shouldn't be directed at the players, but it's also hard to critize a team without some of it hitting the players.

And most of my point is that if a certain player isn't performing well why not give someone else a chance.  When you 0-9 what do you have to loose?  There was a lot of chatter from the parents in the second half at Dickinson when we were down 41 points to "put the freshmen in and give someone esle a chance".

When you have -16 yards rushing for a whole game like they did against Johns Hopkins I would think it's time to give the ball to a kid who you recruited to play running back but plugged in at fullback to fill a need.

I understand that they thought they would be playing on a little more even field in the Centennial but I don't think that has turned out to be true.  I also think from talking with my son it has motiviated some teams to rub it in their faces a little.

I understand that there is a lot of chatter that takes place on the field with a special welcome to the Centennial league.  Especially from some of the defensive players, I heard that the Ursinus players were the worst.

Enough from me.
