A night game against Dickinson on 9/19. I guess Dickinson will put their new lights to a test. The only question is why on a Friday night when they will go up against High School games?. I wonder if the players enjoy playing night games???

one can only ponder why a Friday night game.. Maybe to get more of the students who may bale on Saturday.
At least the sun won't be warming up the visitors side for that game.

I see F & M Posted thier 2008 football schedule with no change.. Coach Troxell in his second year, I sure< wants to improve on last years record. Good luck to him and the team.

Juniata has posted thier schedule : http://athletics.juniata.edu/football/

They have picked up Alleghney as the opener and the next week with Susquehanna. They dropped FDU-Madison and Gallaudet.

Two good games for them

It looks like it will be a challange for them to win a game again this season.

Anyone know when D-III starts spring practice?

Hi Guys

My winter was just like everyone else I guess just waiting for spring.  How about you guys?

One question though, how does a guys karma go down when he hasn't made a snidely whip lash post in months?  Man I'm down to a -3.

Maybe we can have a little discussion about something I'm always curious about.  It has to do with coaching.

When I was growing up in sports coaches assessed their talent before they decided what kind of offense or defense they would use.

These days it seems like everyone runs a "system' and won't change no matter what kind of talent they have.

Are coaches just caught up in todays "system" mentality and can't adapt or am I missing something here.

It seems to me the best coaches/teams adapt their "system" to their talent, the poorest coaches/teams just keep running the "system" no matter how bad it gets.

Not sure if this is the best response to your question, but it could depend on the level you're at. For instance, in high school, coaches have to take what players they can get, so they might be forced to adapt to their talent (or lack thereof).

In college, there's more ability to recruit, so coaches have a better shot at luring players that best fit into the already established system. Of course, recruiting isn't perfect, and in those cases, coaches who are unwilling to adapt have to suck up that 1-9 season and hope they don't get fired.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Old,

Bullets should be somewhere  in the middle this year. Curcio is good but you just don't replace a Sturges

overnight.Coach Streeter is a wily old fox but I don't know that he has the horses to run with the big dogs this time around.  He will have to show me otherwise.

Muledaddy's sources were almost correct. Wilkes @ Muhlenberg Sept. 6  7:00 P.M..  They play Union next up in Schenectedy then on to the conference slate. Even though its not posted, you can piece the rest of the schedule together.
