Thanks guys - You can probably count on one hand the amount of times FDU has started 3-0, so this week will be interesting. As for knocking off Del Val, that would appear to be a tall task. I am VERY far removed from the team at this point, so my days of knowing exactly what's going on there are long past.

Congratulations to FDU and Stevenson - Del Val now needs to start a new streak.   Stevenson played very well yesterday, and with the amount of penalties that Del Val had, it's amazing that that score was so close.   For me, it was just a sad sport's day.

Congrats to FDU...moving to 4-0 going to the bye week. They looked as good as I can remember, but I don't have a frame of reference to compare LVC to.
I looked at the box score and had to laugh...attendance listed at 400. I think the SID left off a digit. It was homecoming with the 50th year celebration. More like 4000 :)

As I continue to lurk...I felt compelled to congratulate FDU on the 5-0 start...for the first time ever in school history. Obviously have to step it up next week at Del Val, when the going gets much tougher.

Hi Bill!   First huge congrats to FDU going undefeated so far this season!   That should be a GREAT game on Saturday for Del Val's homecoming with you guys from FDU!   Age is keeping us from attending most of the athletic functions at DVU now - so glad that we get to watch here on the net.   Let's hope for a game with absolutely no injuries and good luck to both teams!

Thank you Frank, for selecting the Del Val/FDU game as the game of the week.   I really find it hard to root against FDU for several reasons, one being that they've been close to the bottom of the MAC standings for quite a few years and two, because they have remained such a good, loyal MAC member since my husband & I have been following MAC sports  ('97/98 season).   Such a gorgeous day for football, and again, hoping for a great game for both teams with NO injuries and not too many penalties!

I'm going to take FDU in a close one, 28-23.

FDU has two grad students and two seniors on their offensive line and a very good and experienced QB.

The Aggies offensive line is a mess due primarily to two season ending injuries to All-MAC linemen and their 3 year starter at QB is out for this game.

I see these as huge differences and the reason for an FDU victory. This is one year, due to many circumstances, that FDU has zero excuses to not beat the Aggies and win the MAC. I want to see if they can win a game or two in the NCAA playoffs like the better Aggies teams or are they one and done. We'll see.

Well - I just checked the score...and it looks like FDU is not quite ready for prime time!

WOW!!!! I did not see THIS coming! The Aggies defense held a very prolific FDU offense to just 6 points and that very experienced FDU offensive line gave up 6 sacks!

Gordon Mann said that this FDU team was loaded with grad students and seniors so this might have been their shot. Here's hoping FDU can win at home next week against King's and on the road the following week at Stevenson.............and that the Aggies can run the table on the way to an improbable 7th consecutive MAC Championship, in a rebuilding year.

Alvernia almost pulled one out as they fall to 0-6. Recruiting can't be easy in Del Val's backyard...

I'm really surprised that Alvernia keeps struggling as much as they are. DelVal is more of a NJ, Bucks County team and either Alvernia or Albright should own the Berks County area. Both Reading colleges have been struggling for years. Maybe LebVal is beating both of them to the Berks County athletes.

As the great Ric Flair used to say "In order to be the man, you have to beat the man!" Well, right now Del Val is still the man. ;)

Well, I was truly hoping for parity in the MAC this year, but I'd better be careful cause I got what I wished for.   Just now, toward the end of the FDU/King's game, King's scored a td going ahead 42/35 with not much time left.   Del Val plays King's next week and they will be tough!   FDU played well today - the Del Val game that started at noon was over quickly so I got to watch the FDU game.   The MAC looks great this season!   Glad that Stevenson lost to Eastern!!!

Big game in the MAC on Saturday at 1 pm in Wilkes Barre!   Del Val at King's!   Please check the standings to see how big!

jmcozenlaw

King's has 31 standard and fifth year seniors on this year's roster, with many being multiyear starters. DelVal has some experience but nothing like King's. Between the experience gap and it being at King's................King's has zero excuses and I am taking them in a close one, 27-21.

The Aggies will reload for 2025 and beyond, but for this one season and this one game, it's King's.
