Does anybody know of some sort online gamecast of the UST/GAC game tonight.  I don't mind staring at a screen full of stats as long as they are updating :)

Mig, if you've got audio on your computer you should be able to pick up the radio feed.

Good luck!

46-18 UST at the half

Pat Coleman

Oof -- St. Thomas picked a good night to play a little defense, apparently.

shooting 69% from the field doesnt hurt either

Pat Coleman

Suppose so. Will listen to the second half -- after Lost is over, that is. :)

Sowden has 12 of the GAC 18, outside of him the Gusties are shooting 2-18.
Rosefelt with 11 and 11, to go along with 4 blocks.
No points from the Gustie backcourt.

Couple minutes into the second half, GAC has gone 10 minutes without a field goal.
54-20 UST.

Pat, did you see St. Thomas play this year when their D was bad or something?  I read your comment above and remember an IM during Hoopsville last night about the Tommies' defense.

Coming into tonight, St. Thomas was only allowing 69 points per game and opponents were shooting .465 against them.  Those aren't bad numbers.

What's the story?

Pat Coleman

You think .465 is not a bad number? Last year .465 was well above average for Division III -- in fact, a team that shot .465 would've been just outside the Top 50, the best 13% of so of Division III basketball teams. If St. Thomas is making opponents look like they are in, say, the top 18% of Division III in shooting then I would say those are indeed bad numbers.

Right now, .465 would be the worst field goal percentage defense in your conference, the CCIW.

The top 50 in field goal percentage defense last year cut off at 40.4%.

I think all the SJU guys in here should be very proud of Johnnie_esq.  In the "halftime shootout" at the SJU/BU game he guided his 2 man team to a second place finish  :) If SJU hadn't beat us so badly tonight I would ask if you have some eligibility left.

After tonights loss it is hard to say whether we will be able to pull anything together this season.  The team just doesn't seem to playing togther like one would expect.

p.s. some SJU benchwarmer had a pretty sweet dunk as time expired in the 2nd half.

I just thought there must be more to it with the two mentions.  I don't think .465 is a terrible number on the surface...or at least not bad enough after so few games to point it out so specifically.  Especially considering that UW-Stout went 30-50 on them...take that out and the other St. T opponents were shooting .434.  Maybe Stout is awesome...maybe St. T had one bad defensive night.

Just thought you had seen them or something.
