The Aquin did a great documentary on the Tommies' run to the Elite Eight. Well worth the time investment to watch this.

I enjoyed watching it... but the pregame yells... rather overpowering while watching late at night with headphones...!

DP, Another kid from this area that is getting a lot of ink is Tydan Storrusten of Pelican Rapids. He averaged 26.1 ppg and 7.5 rbg for the 30-0 Vikings. They play New London Spicer tonight at 6:00 at Williams Arena. Heard some mention of him going D-l also possibly to Northern State.

Edit: Oops, sorry I missed Storrusten on your original list.

DP - I believe Zach Filzen transferred to DI Buffalo this season and will have three years of eligibility left starting next season.

And, yes, I'm a big Mike Felt guy. He's another pure scorer from Redwood Falls. I'll have to do some digging on a couple of these kids.

Sum – Pelican Rapids had another kid a couple of years ago that made a name for himself. Wasn't it Taylor/Tyler Huseby?  If I recall, he ended up at SW State? They most play some good ball in Pelican.

Prospect tracking Reminder:

Quote the latest list any poster may have updated rather than the list I originally started.  This way we'll be able to have one reasonably updated list. Tdrop -  Last night I updated my original list (rev. 1), Sum added to my update (rev 2.) this morning, & now you updated the original. This means I'll have to go back in & add your entries on to the 2nd rev.(Sum's post), which will now become the 3rd revision.

A couple of other housekeeping items –

1) only bold the player's name if you're reasonably sure they've committed to the school.  If it's an educated guess or rumor simply list your comments.

2) If you open up another "window" & go the post you want to update, you can quote it, & copy it into a new post like this & keep the special  formatting features intact. Just delete the previous poster's name & date of post. Like this:

DP, you are correct. A quick check of the Mustangs website shows that Taylor (redshirt Soph) started 23 of 33 games. He averages 8 ppg and 3.8 rbg in 18.4 minutes of play.

The Mustangs play Cal Poly Pomona this afternoon in the elite 8!

Willy Wonka

I like the last list better.

I'll add a couple thoughts...

Filzen is definitely transferring to Buffalo. He put up 20+ in a game early in the season...and then was put off by a religious coach who is a big-time cusser, apparently. He wasn't getting off the bench to end the year. Not sure how Buffalo got in the mix, though.

Chris Palmer could be a dynamic D3 talent. He averaged something like 28 and 15 over the last half of the season. 6-4ish with range and handles. I've heard he likes St. Mary's, but nothing is confirmed at this point. He'd be a little undersized inside, but a perfect fit with the up-tempo style.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Cal Poly Pamona defeated Southwest Minnesota State 79-74 and ended the Mustangs' season in the opening round of the Elite Eight Wednesday afternoon in Springfield, Mass.

Shooters of messengers -  ::) ;) keep this in mind. The original list I posted last night was the list of players named to the MN High School Basketball Coach Association All-Star Games.  Here's the Link.
This List was never meant to be an exhaustive list of all college bound basketball players.  There are a number of D1 bound players that for various reasons opted not to play in the All–Star games, their HS coach didn't nominate them, or the coach was not a member of this coaches' association.  It was my hope that by providing a preliminary list we could begin an earnest dialogue that would encourage discussion & yield good information.  Based upon early returns I think my idea has worked.  :-* ;D And I did like Wizhoops change as he grouped the players by Division.

I understand Kevin Fitz. later changed his name to Khalid El Faheed.  :D

WOW - at the state tourney Sibley loses to Bloomington Jefferson!  This is a good couple of weeks to be Coach Jeff Evens & a Jefferson Jaguar.  Last week former Jag, Cole Aldrich is in town for the NCAA & is a dominant force for the Kansas Jayhawks, & this week the Jags upset Sibley.

Random NCAA basketball note:  Somebody needs to card the Pittsburgh players.
They all look like they just walked in from the YMCA's 35+ hoops lunch hour.  My latest hero. Levance Fields

Is this the same set of fitzgerald's that included a Mike Fitzgerald who played for Northwestern from 90-95?  Probably the best shooter in school history,  43% from 3 with 387 made threes, and 90% at the line.

too bad we can't get a sibley-hopkins rematch.  I understand sibley's best guard had recently hurt his ankle, possibly explaining his 1-13 effort yesterday.  I don't buy the notion that a backcourt makes all the difference in March, but without Hernandez they can barely get the ball up the court.  I'm guessing Tech vs. Hopkins today is going to set some records for the most lopsided game between two undefeated teams with a minimum of 29 wins.
