Congrats to St. Paul's most eligible bachelor - OAS is getting married.

Better chances of an appearance from him: Spot Bar on Victoria and Randolph or D3Hoops.com:P

Yea 1997...I remember it well...no I don't because it was 3 years before I started calling games...geez if you have go back more than a decade for your last win, is it really a rivalry?

You're right, it is not a rivalry... 13 NCAA team titles for UST, 4 for SJU/CSB combined, pretty much says it all (OK, 13-5 if you want to count NAIA)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Rich...I think the topic was football, true UST has a great tradition in many sports, which I did not comment on or genuflect in front of...I think my comment was directed right at football...yea pretty sure it was just football...

No, the topic started as a sweeping wish for success in ALL sports next year (yes, it INCLUDED football but was not limited to that) which you myopically weeded down to football after taking umbrage with the fact that someone dared to wish success to a program other than the one in the woods. SOME of us take pride in all successes by all MIAC schools, regardless of the color of their uniform.

and UST baseball sure looked good in Sports Illustrated this week. a truly great photo that captured the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat (to use a cliche)

Last I checked, SJU and CSB have separate athletic departments.

Whoa whoa whoa...let's not resort to using REAL names here. That puts everyone at a disadvantage when guys like Drake and Loco are still around  ::)

Last *I* checked, SJU and CSB list job openings on the same web page. As I've said before, it's all a matter of semantics...and when it works in their favor to be separate.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Maniac...I think success by any MIAC institution nationally is great...I have wished other teams well including UST basketball right here on this board...Now a vast majority of your posts are shaded purple to say the least, so championing the entire conference rings a little hollow...keep living in your purple world ...

oh and your topic  might have been all the sports, mine was purely football...

Well said Willy.   In addition to the names you singled out, I'd also offer the likes of Nites, Miacsuperfan, Wabbit, Slickyquicky, HoopsPhd, Teardrop, etc.   :-*

CMOB,

I was gonna head down there but couldn't get the time off from work. Be sure to stop Cubbyville for a few barley pops. My gal has been down there before and said it's a great time. Have fun cheering on our favorite 9.

SUMMIT!!!!!

from the Senile One's column this morning:

John Nance, the former Cretin-Derham Hall quarterback who was redshirted this past season as a Gophers football freshman, is definitely going to leave the team. The word is that Nance plans to play basketball at St. Thomas
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Italian proverb

TommieHoops4Life

Nance is a good athlete, hopefully it works out for him at UST.

In other news, Shane Schilling, the former Tonka star who played two years at the U, has officially hit rock bottom.
