Ok, Willy - we give up, tell us the scoop.  And while you're at it, how are things in Red Wing? ??? Hopefully this cost cutting move pays off.

I'll stick to the company line here, speaking through clenched teeth: This is a good thing.

I also can't talk about the UND situation. It's been kept on the DL for a long time and isn't for public consumption (yet?). Ask me about it when you see me this fall/winter, perhaps? :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Wow, not much going on here.  How about another Top 10 list to take up some time on the board.
This time I went to the MIAC stats page and checked out some numbers.  So here are:

THE TEN MOST INTERESTING FACTS I FOUND WHILE CHECKING THE MIAC STATS PAGE

10.  Super-soph Jon Fraase led CC in scoring 16 times and in rebounding 19 times, after a rather            non-descript freshman year.
  9.  Senior Nate Alm led AUG in scoring 13 times and rebounding a total of 21 times while leading his         team to the playoffs.
  8.  Soph Will Wright (SMU) has scored in double figures 45 of his 50 games.
  7.  UST is 24-1 when  Junior Joe Scott scores 17 points or more.
  6.  UST needs to get rid of the purple stat page.  That thing is horrible!
  5.  STO and HAM each had 7 different players lead them in scoring last year.
  4.  Ten different players led GAC in scoring during the 08-09 season.
  3.  Aaron Burtzel led SJU in rebounding 20 times in their 26 games.
  2.  BU's Tim Madson and CAR's Zach Johnson scored in double figures a ridiculous combined 144 of         148 times in their last 3 seasons.  Johnson was 75-78 and Madson 79-80!

And the number one most interesting fact I learned while checking the MIAC stats pages:

  1. Tom Conboy & Abe Woldeslassie are still the featured faces on MAC's basketball web page!  :o

From SI.com yesterday:
"The Denver Nuggets swapped Steven Hunter, a protected 2010 first-round pick and cash to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for a future conditional second rounder, Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said Friday."

How does this make sense for denver?  they give up a player, although not a great one, a protected first round pick, and cash for a second round pick?????  Anyone know why a team would do that.  I thought cap relief for the nuggets but they are also sending cash.

Boring Day at work.....

Here i my two cents about miacsuperfans top 10

10. Carl Hipp put up 20 and 20 with 8 blocks dominating Fraase this year
9. Nate Alm dominated me for the three minutes I guarded him this year
8. Will Wright is very sneaky sneaky
7. We held Joe Scott to 15 total points against us this season, yet lost both times
6. UST needs to lose the purple period.
5. I led Hamline in one of those games, but we lost anyways
4. GAC shares the love, and so does GACMAN, congrats on the engagement
3. Aaron Brutzel is wicked crafty
2. Mad-dog and Zoro are better than me
1. Of course, who are you going to put up their from a winless team?

A little summer news here.....Not confirmed but it seems as though a Mr. Eric Clute will be following the path of Jon Derock and is taking his services to SMSU for the upcoming year.

And Eric Clute, though not a bad offensive ballplayer, is certainly no John Derock.  Good luck to him if this proves to be more than a rumor.

Hmmm- this is interesting news.  Although I can understand potential discontentment with the basketball program at Hamline, I didn't see anything in young Mr. Clute's game that would suggest a successful transfer to a DII school.  I could see another D3 school but D2?  ??? I don't see him having the quicks to play at that level.

I agree with Supe.  However, if this what he has decided, best of luck to him.

Chairman, you missed april fools by like 4 months.  But seriously, i've heard rumors of him transferring before last year even started and nothing came through, has there been any steps taken towards this or is this just more boasting.  And how is sunny snelling these days, haven't been up there in awhile.

1 month from today i will be tailgating at the new gopher football stadium for the home opener...it will be glorious

As far as I know, the paper work has been filed. I have to agree with Drake, as would most people on this board I believe, that the step up to D2 is quite a drastic move. Unless the passing and defensive skills drastically improve, I do not see this working out too well. Although even if basketball doesn't work out the tuition will sure put the mind at ease compared to that of the miac.

Is that the same stadium being built to host Twins games and will the Vikings also be playing there?

I'm happy to report that the days of multi-purpose stadiums in minnesota are numbered.  Twins, Vikes and Gophers will all be in different stadiums next season

DP, Thanks for the tip! Ate at the Blue Door last Wednesday night. We had great food. I sampled the Merriam Park, Mrs. Sum had the mushroom Swiss and #1 daughter had the Bacon Blucy. All were excellent, the fries were over the top good as well. You were correct, the great burger battle is heating up. I dare say, I may have to start spending more time in St. Paul just to try all of your hotspots!

Cool, cool, glad you liked it.  You're definitely right about the burger battles. It seems there are nice burger joints popping up all over the place.  Cmob should be salivating nowadays.  Don't forget Brasa on another one of your trips to the cities.

I'll be doing a Weight Watchers diet & running the rest of the week.  I need to cleanse my body so I'm prepared for my semi- annual pilgrimage to Fat Lorenzo's in south Mpls next weekend.  Excellent cholesterol in a bun or a pizza pie. ;D

Let me know if you ever want a casual dining – great seafood tip.  It's not too far from UST, but only open until October.

Did you make it over to the PGA?  I'm not a golfer but that was certainly a huge upset in the golfing world yesterday! :o :)
