I feel for you, PI. Those games were absolutely brutal last year.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

BOLD and RCW are both terrible. A far cry from the good old days of the 212.

Game day boys. Noticed that on the pick'em, only MiacManiac picks Hamline over Carleton tonight.

I'm really sold on Carleton right now, but we've seen in the past that they wear down slightly come playoff time. Last year may have been an exception because they had outstanding seniors in Baquero, Beste and Schieck (wait, did he graduate last year or the year before). Whatever the case, I think they may have been more mentally tough last year than this year.

Does anybody see their short bench as a problem? I'm seeing a bit more production in recent weeks, but is it enough. Same could be said for UST though. Their bench hasn't been spectacular.

WW-the teams played the best game of both their seasons. RCW 72, BOLD 67.

its hump day :o

schieck graduated the season before

i think CAR is mentally tougher this year than last year believe it or not

Who are the powers in the MIAC this year?  The IIAC is the definition of parity this season and will struggle in the post season.
To succeed, one must be creative and persistent.  John H. Johnson

Powers...I guess you could say UST and CAR. But there isn't a dominate team out there that will go very far in the NCAA playoffs.

PI and WW,

Both of you will get a kick out of this one. I just got a call from a parent about a headline I had in today's paper about our girls team shooting horribly in a loss. They went 9-50 (18%) in a 12-point loss. Apparently i'm being too hard on the team??

Carleton has all the makings of a great team this year. Forkrud has proven he is one of the most dominant post players in the MIAC (he absolutely abused Ike and Shimek). Drake and Johnson can light it up from outside and guys like Jake Phillips and some others fill the role player duties nicely. I don't know that I see this team losing again until the postseason with the way they are playing right now, and who knows if that will be the MIAC playoffs or the NCAA tournament.

TH4L--
Don't you love commentary from parents?  I've received it from commentary I've had on Post Patterns, Posting Up and my weekly West Region Recap.  It's like they can't stand to hear their kids don't walk on water.

Can you imagine if Marcus Vick's mom contacted everyone who wrote bad about her son?

MAC loses 86-43 in one of the worst overall displays of basketball by the Scots that I have ever seen.

Can a game between the Scots and Gophers be worked out?

Ummm...where are the SJU posters? Olaf absolutely destroyed the Js tonight 74-59. The Oles shot an amazing 81% in the second half and 66% total. How is that even possible? Have some pride, fellas.

A closer look at the box score seems to show Koz was extra sneaky tonight. He apparently used that obscure rule that says a bad team with a bad coach while playing at home against a favored opponent gets to start a sixth player (or else Ludwig is drunk right now :) ).

Gusties get an easy win on the road, 66-54. I'll be interested to hear any reactions from someone crazy enough to make that trip. GAC shot 60% and held CC to 40%, yet only won by 12. No other stats really stand out which makes me wonder how it was even that close.

Break down from Schoenecker tonight

MAC women lose by 47:  77-30
MAC men lose by 43:  86-43

MAC women shoot 23.9%
MAC men shoot 26.8%

Both St. Thomas men's and women's team played 15 players each.  Of those 30 who played only 5 went scoreless.

Go MAC!!
