SUMMIT!!!!!

(using a broom to clear all the cobwebs in here) I find it odd that at least one program has its 2019-2020 roster posted-- over two weeks before the first practice.

Meanwhile, several others have not even released their non-conference schedule yet. One that has (UST) is playing a killer out-of-MIAC schedule: games at Whitman, Whitworth and Scholastica followed by 2 games in the Chicago Classic. First game in Chicago they square off with Nebraska Wesleyan.  the other two teams in the tourney are Depauw and U of Chicago.

Also, the recent UST AD's Town Hall didn't she much light on the school's plans for the future but did say that "the Big Ten is out" and also laughed at Charlie Walters' assertion that hoops was going to the Big East. I also think we can safely rule out the ACC, SEC, Big XII, Pac 12 and Ivy  8-) ;D

Lastly, to the best of my knowledge there is no relation between myself (the original Miacmaniac ) and the new guy #33... but welcome 33!

I don't know about that, but I would say ice hockey better watch its back. D-I football in the Pioneer League is very doable.

Hockey has a home with the seven members that are leaving the WCHA. Nothing official about this until the move to DI is approved.

I know so little about St. Thomas and Pioneer League football that I should not even comment.

A Minnesota school getting rid of its hockey teams? What's next -- banning Caribou coffee and tater tot hotdish from campus?

Headed to D-I? Could happen:

it's happening.... here's a better source: https://www.stthomas.edu/athletics/athletics-conference-update/index.html

As you hinted ... just clarifying: this has to be approved by D1. The division is not exactly known for letting new-comers cut corners and just jump into DI. There has been a school in DIII on the east coast who has had D1 aspirations but has been left on the outside of DII - part of the normal process - and thus stonewalled.

There is a loophole which allows for such an invitation, but D1 approving this move is not exactly a betting favorite.

We shall see. Anything is possible at this point.

Though, I'd hate to see UST leave DIII.

Who - other than you Gregory -  said anything about folding the hockey programs? that is NOT happening.

I'm giving the Tommies a 98% chance of receiving the waiver.

I am curious, which school?

It's right there in the post I quoted. I'll bold it for you this time.

Either Rowan or Montclair State is my guess, and my bet is on the former.

Pretty sure you're correct that it's Rowan.
