I also think Paul Heinrichs was not at all deserving of his all region award that went to him 2 years ago. I thought someone else deserved to be on that team.

TDT- Fiance's aunt is our agent. No fees!

HAM 70  MAC 66   2:00 left

Downey - Agreed. I was working in the GAC SID office at that time and somehow his name got submitted three times - which I'm assuming is a mistake rather than a lame attempt to stuff the ballot - but he was listed as a guard, making his rebound numbers seem unreal.

He's a tough player, but not as well utilized this year as he has been in the past IMO. He's one of a number of borderline, inconsistents candidates this season. The voting should be interesting.

How are Hamline and Mac the first two schools to get a live video feed?? Don't the Tommies have enough people to setup such an operation? Doesn't Carleton have the resources? Don't the Gusties have the demand? Ridiculous.

Announcer and Maggie the camerawoman...thank you for your coverage!

70-68 Conboy basket
73-68 Wiener 3 (after he missed last two)
Pipers steal, Joe Smock dunks over Hollander, but charge is called. Hollander underneath basket.

In-bound, Assel gets beat on long ball, Wiener layup 75-70
Ranwick in and out on 3
Foster rebounds-fouled-2 of 2 77-70

Pipers 77-72.

A really, really, big win for the Pipers. More tomorrow. Scots 6-10, need to win out most likely. Pipers 7-8, need to keep the big mo going.

GAC destroys Marys again, 82-42. Doble and Schmidt combine for 26 off the bench. Sapp led SMU with 13 I think.

GAC shot 61% and had twice as many boards as the Cards. Good way to bounce back after two disappointing losses.

Johnnies take out the Tommies 96-91 in OT.  Looks like Westman sent the game to OT with a 3 pointer with no time left in regulation.

Well done Johnnies!

Someone asked recently why the MIAC isn't getting any votes in the latest D3 poll...Well, I think today's results are the perfect example as to why not.

*Cobbers struggled mightily and barely escaped against a dead-in-the-water Cobbers team
*Tommie suffer a 40-point reversal in losing to their rival
*Gusties clobber a middle-of-the-pack Marys team after losing twice this week
*Hamline continues schizo season with tough road win
*Oles grounded by resurrected Bethel club

There just simply isn't one team that has consistently played well this entire season. Even as an extremely biased MIAC-backer, I'd be hard-pressed to vote for any of these teams right now.

The playoffs should be interesting.

The UST and SJU game was the best game i have seen in a long time. Westman hit a bomb to send it into OT. The Johnnies however had a chance to win in regulation but turned it over late.

So do you think he deserves it after a 20 and 12 performance against the leagues top team?

The UST and SJU game was the best game i have seen in a long time.

I have to agree with Watchmen. Tremendous atomosphere in Collegeville yesterday. Thought things might get interesting when I walked into Sexton and encountered 4 of Stearns Counties finest! They remainind posted around the court the entire game. UST brought a nice contingent of students. No attendance was announced, but easily the biggest crowd I have seen this year at SJU.

I have to give the Johnnies alot of credit. They hung around in the first half despite UST shooting 57% from the field. SJU tried trapping and double teaming on the perimeter. Tommies showed great ball rotation to find the open man. UST's front line was 14-18 fg in the first half. Johnnies only down 5 at the half.

Second half UST opens with a 9-0 run in the first minute to put the Johnnies in a real hole. They could have packed it in at this point, but the responded with their own 9-0 run over the next 2 1/2 minutes. Exciting basketball the rest of the way. Both sides hitting shots with a hand in their face. Ike and C. Schafer had a rock fight going on.   SJU got wthin one a couple of times. They couldn't get over the hump. UST lead by 7 with 3 minutes to play. They would only score 2 point in the last 3 minutes.

SJU pulled within 1 with 26 seconds to go on a Henrichs put back. They fouled Sweeney, who barely caught front iron with his FT attempt. Ohme got the rebound and dribbled into a crowd at the other end and got stripped. Sweeney hit 2 FT this time. With 6 second left SJU inbounded the ball. Ohme went the length of the floor, tried to drive and kicked it out to Westman. Westman was nearly in Jim Smith's lap when he shot. 7/10 of a second left after the make!

It was tied at 80 in OT. After that UST went cold from the field and the Johnnies stayed stayed hot. OT turned into a SJU FT contest. Uncharacteristically they hit 14-16 in OT.

Both teams get 3 points from their bench. Henrichs played the last 6:23 of regulation and the entire OT with 4 fouls. He and Ike both had 12 boards

Great win for the Johnnies! This is the type of game I have been waiting for all year from them. Everyone that played made significant contributions, whether it showed in the box score or not. Hopefully, this will put a little swagger in their step.

I have not seen Forkrud play so I can't compare the two, but Ike is the MOP of the conference from what I have seen. The box score has him with 2 blocked shots! I am not sure what game they were watching. I thought he had like 5 or 6 blocks. I was shocked when I saw that he had missed 6 fg. When UST needed a hoop they got the ball to him. He made some circus shot over around and under Schafer.

Well, if you have made it this far you are probably tired of reading. I will quit for now. Maybe follow up with more later.

PI,

TDT wasn't canvassing for potential business, but rather just curious how your search for the home was going.

Maniac,

How was the game last night?? :o

Good weekend for the Js, 2 of 3 from the Tommies when you are the underdog in all 3 games is cleaning house.  Further proof that the Toms remain OWNED by the Johnnies for life.

OAS,

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

Does anybody see it being possible that the Johnnies could win out and finish at 14-6?? They have SMU, @MAC, HAM, @ AUG and GAC. The J's should win at least 4 if not all 5. 14-6 and looking at the number 3 seed.

Big win for HAM at MAC......looks like i got a T-shirt heading my way oAs. I'm an XL if you forgot.

Watchman - Did you really just ask if Henrichs deserves All Region?  :-\

As for their schedule the rest of the way...all five opponents are fighting for playoffs spots and seeds. SJU went 3-2 the first time through that stretch. One BIG win isn't likely to make your streakiness disappear. Another 3-2 stretch seems likely to me, though there's no way to tell where the 2 losses will come.

MM - Awfully quiet today after your spouting off about the hockey win yesterday. Fritz for CoY and Keating for MVP!!
