do you also agree with me on the problems kangaroos and t-rex dinosaurs have jump roping?

Not sure if anyone has bothered checking these last few weeks, but Carleton has finally got the MIAC back on board. They have 6 votes and are "ranked" 34 this week.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

i did a little research on the Ohme PG situation and since they have moved him back to PG and Lieser back to SG the Johnies are on a 3 game winning streak with a win over UST and in the game previous to this streak they lost to CAR in OT...not too bad i would say it has produced some good games and victories...i think this suits both players very well...lieser can shoot the lights out and ohme can lead

jjkuenzel,

To say that Jim Smith is not a good coach is simply a moronic and idiotic statement. I haven't seem him coach a lot nor have I ever met him, but his career wins and miac title numbers state his case. You can't win that many games and be a bad coach. I agree that Ohme is not a natural point guard, but he's doing a nice job at filling the duties of the role. Does he make unbelievable passes and plays? No. Does he do a consistent job of running the offense and scoring enough to be a legitimate factor in their offense? Absolutely. He's  a nice player to watch, and I think if he has a standout senior year, he could vie for MVP.

How bout them Knights?! 13 in a row and it's gone largely unnoticed on the board. With Johnson, Forkrud and Drake, the guy to step up last night and lead the team in scoring is Jake Phillips with 20. Guy Kalland hands down is COY. I hope to see Carleton play UST in the MIAC championship, because they are the best two teams in the MIAC, and I'll be getting paid to see it!

Cmob, as much as I would like to agree with you I think we need to be a little careful about drawing that conclusion. Their 3 game win streak also coincides with the J's return to Sexton!

I think a couple of the J's could be looking at a possible MIAC MVP race next year.

I agree with watchmen. They will bring back 4 senior starters who will all have a legitimate shot to be the MVP. As for Ohme at PG, I am just not a fan of his game at the PG position. I will discount his talent one bit because he is extrememly talented. I just see him as more of a combo guard who is probably most suited to play the 2. He can certainly play the 1, but I see him as more of a 2. Someone who is playing off the ball and getting good looks that way.

JJ-  I agree with you that Ohme is more of a "2" player and i think most people on this board will agree with that. Coach Smith obviously has an idea and i really think it is to get Leiser more looks off of screens and so on. Leiser and Ohme are both great shooters but Leiser has been better this season. Leiser may switch back to the "1" spot by seasons end.

Johnnies in the playoff mix and all of a sudden this is like the football board.

I agree with several others on here, calling Jim Smith a bad coach is just preposterous.

MAC runs the table and I get a SJU T.  I can't wait!!

The supposed best team in the conference just downed two of the worst teams by a combined three points in two games.  Is Carleton that good?  Is UST that good?  Is the MIAC even that good?

Thats a big call oAs. I could see MAC getting SJU at home but i really fear they have no chance at GAC. GAC needs wins down the stretch and MAC will be one of them.

Damn right! Move over and make some room on this bandwagon.
You guys tailgate before the games? With Hamm's and Stiftungsfest burgers?
Well let's get it on!

SUMMIT!!!!!

fins-
based on  the typical crowd at an sju home game, you can tailgate in the arena during the game and not be noticed. However, MAYBE with the big win over UST, the fans may come back... but it seems all it takes is one loss to send them back to the library or the chapel or wherever they go when its not football season  ;D

Maybe a Stiftungsfest before the GC game on 2/18 is in order?

SJU posters - Last time I checked, the leading scorer, rebounder and blocker in the MIAC -- and current MVP frontrunner -- is just a junior. If he doesn't improve a drop over the offseason, he's still got it on lockdown for next year.

Oh, and if you honestly think you Schaefer, Ohme and Lieser are viable MVP candidates for next season, I want whatever you're smoking.

OAS - By the same tokin' (in keeping with the smoking theme - funnbb, I know you feel me), UST has a ridiculous 18 point scoring margin right now. That includes a loss to the worst team in the league and a blowout at the hands of Carleton.

The league just isn't that good.
