Thats what i am saying no team wants to play at UST.

Willy- what do you consider a blow out??  I know the Johnnies 42 pt loss was a blow out but is anything over 20 a blow out.

Watchman - On paper, it might have looked like a blowout. However, as even Drake noted at the time, GAC had about 4 possessions in the second half - with momentum as UST's whole frontcourt was on the bench with foul trouble - to cut it to a 7 or 8 point game. They didn't take advantage of the chance, thus the somewhat ugly ending.

The final scores of the @CAR and @UST may have been similar. How each played out was definitely not. One was never in doubt (Carlies), while the other was fairly well played until the end, if that makes sense.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Yes.... :)    21 is a monkey stomp and that means the Johnnies were nearly double monkey stomped at UST this winter and i wouldn't want to see a repeat in the playoffs.

Wow that is deep stuff right there. I am perplexed by this quotes meaning.!!

A very wise man named miacwatchmen once told me " Monkeystomp me once my fault, lose in OT second time your fault, lose at home in maic championship game still your fault"

the only home court UST has is that they play in their gym where the opposing fans will most likely steal the home court while the Abercrombie and Fitch crowd posses for the side of the new shopping bag A&F will use in the next season of clothes to come out

Quotego visit UST and its fans in the playoffs this year.

UST has no fans.  I guarentee whichever team plays them in the championship will bring more fans!!  And if not more, louder.

So, if UST and CAR both end up 17-3 who is the one seed? UST by virtue of the 4th tiebreaker?

sumander-
Basically, it means if there is still a tie after tiebreaker #3, they go down the standings from top to bottom in order and compare the tied teams' records at each stop. Using UST/CAR as an example....they both split with SJU so it is a wash. They both swept GAC, so that's a wash. They both swept BU (assuming CAR wins Sat) so that's a wash. CAR split with HAM, and UST swept them. Therefore, UST wins the tie breaker.

PI-
Your beloved Pipers have made two playoff appearances....losing in the first title game (1984-85) at home to SJU and losing in the semifinals at SJU in 1987-88.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

MM, Thanks for the explanation. I thought that is the way it worked but wasn't sure. I agree with your earlier observation that this is contrary to the way it should be. UST's loss to Auggie Tech should be more damaging than CAR's loss to a playoff team HAM!

There is a precedent for a school landing four players on the all-conference team...SJU did in 1977-78, when they were the first team to go 16-0 in league play. No one since then had had more than three, not even the 20-0 UST team.

And you say that why?? A monkey stomp is 21 points so a double monkey stomp would be 42 points and SJU lost 82-41 at UST so when i said they almost got double monkey stomped was i wrong. 41 is pretty close to 42.   And i know you are just trying to get me all worked up Willy  :)

oAs, UST brought alot of fans to the Johnnies vs. Tommie game. Granted it may just be the biggest game in a rivalry but when i was at Johnnie away games they get no road fan support. The only people that follow the team is the parents and some alumni when they play in the area.   I agree that the Abercrombie crowd at UST may be in trouble if they host the finals game though. I bet CAR fans would be pretty excited.
