oAs, I was suprised to see that you put two Johnnies your Team-of-the-Day.

Nice pictures.

Another point, the box score for the Johnnie-Piper game shows fast break points per half near the bottem and it says neither team had a fast break point!! Must have been some pretty good shooting if they had to set the offense up every trip down court. 198 points and no fast break points wow.

1987-88. Wow. It was a nice run! Magic #: 1 ;D

MM-
3 Tommies. No more, no less. Schnettler, Ike and Sweeney. No Shimek, no Keating.

MiacWatch-
198 points in one game should warrant at least three players on OAS' team of the day.

TTGuy-

dont worry bout him cuz Double T is my dog...he has followed the knights for a long time and sometimes goes to the games with me when his rollerskates are working...he has been reading the board for a while

That may be close to my record. 4 in 4 days is pretty good CM

PI brings up an interesting point. How will the All Conference team shake out number wise.

3 - UST, 3 - CAR, 2 -SJU & GAC

Let's hear some thoughts.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

playdefense

From top to bottom this is the weakest men's WIAC basketball league in a long time!  One team will make the dance and that team will be one and out!

playdefense

Sorry bout that.............I meant MIAC!  I just can't see any strong contenders after the Tommies, Carleton and the Gusties.  Thomas and Carleton are at the top and Gustavus has some post season savy..........otherwise........it's brutal!

PI - Thanks. Even though I hate your contributions to a certain blog, there's always room for another on the anti-Keating bandwagon.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

SUMMIT!!!!!

3 - UST, 3 - CAR, 2 -SJU & GAC

Let's hear some thoughts.

assuming its a 15 man squad (it has fluctuated over the years between 15, 16 & 17), my guess is it will be :
3 each from UST & Car (altho a case can be made for 4 each)
2 each from SJU, Ham, GAC & Mac (with two of these eight guys left out, not sure which 2)
1 each from BU, SMU & Augs
0 from Olaf & Cord

PI -- I agree with you, but coaches may disagree... it will be an interesting vote.

After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

SUMMIT!!!!!

playdefense-- you probably had it right the first time....and then we'll hear the typical WIAC whine (used in all sports) "we beat each other up so badly during our brutal regular season that its a miracle our winner does well" which we all know is a line of crock. :)

ALL conferences "beat each other up" throughout the regular season (OK, maybe not the UMAC)  :). Maybe that's why the MIAC hasn't done well in post-season hoops (with 2 notable exceptions) in the past 12 years? We play so many intense, physical in-confernece games, we don't have any energy left for post-season <heavy dose of sarcasm>
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Playdefense – welcome to the board, I think  ???  ;D

Cmob- looks like you might have antagonized some of the boys in red & baby blue from up north.  I'll hook you up.

Sumander - since you mentioned it, I thought I'd throw this out to spark up some conversation.

In a typical year,  the MIAC names 15 players to All MIAC.  The 04-05 season seemed to be an exception & they named 16 players.

This is followed by - One Player of the year, One 6th man of the year, 5 players to the All Defensive team & 5 players to the All FY team.

With this in mind, here's an early cut at how I think the voting might go:

All Conference

AUG – N/A
BET – Charles Meadowcroft
CARL – Dan Forkrud, Zach Johnson, Jake Phillips
CORD – Jason Miller (Sympathy MASH vote)

GAC – Adam TeBrake (Mebbe Stein or Wittwer too?)
HAM – Kyle Foster
MAC – Tom Conboy
SJU – Paul Heinrichs, Tyler Westman
SMU- Brensley Heywood

STO- Mark Bergstrom  (I'm real iffy on this & think they could go with Bain, or no one at all)

UST – Isaac Rosefelt, Bryan Schnettler, Sean Sweeney

Player of the Year – UST/Isaac Rosefelt

6th Man of the Year – GAC/Trevor Wittwer

All Defensive Team

CARL - Fork, Drake

UST- Rosefelt (What can I say? I've dogged his defense in the past, the guy's an incredible rebounding machine), Sweeney

HAM - Weiner

All Freshman Team

CARL– Zach Johnson
GAC – Mike DesLauriers
HAM – Tony Thrasher, Jon DeRock
SMU- Mike Sweeney
