on the topic of an all star game, would it be similar to nba all star weekend with a 3point contest and dunk contest? and if so who would be placed in those two this year? and why would the underclassmen loose their eligibility?

Because that is how the NCAA rules read.

Wasn't that tall drink of water from Saint Mary's a few years ago that scored over 1,000 career points named to the all-conference team?

jdowney-
I was looking for ya on Saturday morning say around 7:30 a.m. Zaga time. They were broadcasting College Gameday live and there was a nice crowd, especially since it was a night game.

It was a big win over Stanford.

Look at the pages in the MIAC thread compared to other west region conferences. Take that! But then again, if you took away the fun and games (the best part), we'd lose a lot and CMafia.

Ooooooo!! Revamping of the GAC website. Wonka likes!

PI - Rumor has it you'll be following Miss Smith to the Xcel this Friday/Saturday for some jazz/funk and high kick shenanigans. What are the chances you can get some Cannon Falls pics for me? :)

oAs- You'd be remiss if you had a 3-point contest without ATizzle in the lineup. He shot 48.8% last year and is at 42.3% this season.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

For those who haven't heard the word out of Arden Hills:

After nine successful years as Head Men's Basketball Coach, Bob Bjorklund has decided to step down from his coaching responsibilities to become full-time athletic director. Since 2004, Bob has been serving as both coach and athletic director. We are excited about his future with Bethel and the commitment he brings to the athletic director position. At the same time, we are also pleased to announce that Jeff Westlund has been appointed as the new head men's basketball coach.

A Tizzle is my Fred Hoiberg--left out of the competition.

So what is the opinion of Westlund? Will it be stay the course or will the program take a new direction? Website says he has been there for 10 yrs. I would suspect no radical changes.

Sorry I'm a little slow, I take it Bjorklund is coaching through this season. It makes sense, his boy Tyson got his playing time and now that he is graduating, it's time to retire.

WW-
Cannon Falls. Done and done.

And it's Ms. Smith to you.

Now that V-Day is gone and past, President's Day is right around the corner. I love President's Day sales? And the day off for postal workers, banks, some schools and Washington D.C.

The opinion on Westlund from some people I've spoken with is that he has been the "coach" of that team for sometime.  High energy guy who knows his X's and O's.

He's got a nice track record:
"Incoming Royals Head Coach Westlund has served as an assistant coach since 1995 and in 2004 became associate head coach. Westlund was head coach at Valley City State University in Valley City, N.D., and at Grinnell College in Iowa prior to coming to Bethel. He was also previously an assistant coach at North Dakota State University and Bowling Green State University in Ohio. "

I look for them to get better.

PI--Low blow on the Tyson comment. :)

PLus for the Pipes, what is the status of that transfer from Niagra?? Is he there will he play next year? The Royals could be alot better next year. They lose some good guards and two posts but they keep Meadowcroft and the Cook triplets.

ox·y·mo·ron    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (ks-môrn, -mr-)
n. pl. ox·y·mo·ra (-môr, -mr) or ox·y·mo·rons

A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist.

Nice work with the MIAC oxymoron, watchmen.

The Cooks do suck but they are so darn big!! how are they so bad.  The biggest one couldn't make a layup with a gun to his head.

And oAs, you changed my quote  ;)    where is Meadowcroft and the new kid in your quote of me?

Ya College Game Day wasa here this weekend and it was a great weekend. I played Andy Katz in a little shooting contest during our shoot-around. Other Big Wigs in town and at our practices included, Erin Andrews, Digger Phelps, Rece Davis, Brad Nessler, Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale, The Schwab and that might be it. It was a good weekend and a big win for us. We can hopefully win out and earn the #1 seed this year. I am hoping we make the trip to Minneapolis.
